Vrabel has a .540 winning percentage and has won a couple of playoff games, despite not having a franchise QB. Hed be a great hire (and is basically what we were hoping AP could but but doesnt look like he is).
I don’t trust his OC hires
Those teams are not light years away from anyone. As long as Jerry Jones owns Dallas, they will always have an issue with him interfering progress enough to win another ring. He made Dak the highest paid player in the NFL and I can think of 10 QBs better than him; Hurts, Allen, Burrow, Love, Goff, Purdy, Herbert, Wilson, Jackson, Mahomes.
Dallas has all their cap invested in three players and the Raiders will probably finish with a better record then them. Even if Dak wasnt injured, they dont finish over 500. Carr frickn worked them with a healthy Dak and Micha Parsons for Gods sakes. To put it lightly, Dallas sucks ass. Light years ahead..HA, they're like the next bus stop! The only reason to go to Dallas is because of the brand, which the same could be said of the Raiders. Once again you think the grass is greener in Dallas and its a pile of shit.
Chicago is now committed to Caleb. If he shows no progress in his 2nd year, you now have questions on whether he's a bust or not, but for now he's your guy and you have to develop him into an NFL QB. Daniels and Stroud are already developed and doing better. Caleb was the 1st pick. Plus the pressure is extra thick in Chicago because of the mistakes they've made in the past trading the house away for Trubisky. Caleb has about two seasons, Bears fans have little patience about now and will run his ass out of town. If you're the new coach coming in, you have to be all in on Caleb which can cost you your job if he's not the guy.
Jacksonville is a hot mess. They're literally picking ahead of the Raiders at the number one spot as we speak, and this with a healthy Trevor Lawrence..Now they're going to trot Mac Jones out there, next up Lions, good luck with that. They'll hold their draft spot this week.. Once again light years?? If you mean being able to pick number one then maybe yes, Jacksonville is light years ahead of the Raiders...by about 4 picks.
Now, enough about those far off crumblimg civilizations. Back to this shit show. You have a some building blocks, obviously Bowers being your best offensive player, a rookie QBs wet dream to have a TE of his caliber. Your offensive line can built around JPJ your center who is setting the tone, there's already some decent pieces in place in Miller if you get him healthy, Parham, and Glaze, Peat, Meridian, Whitehair. Jakobi Meyers is still a great complimentary WR to WR 1. Just need a RB which can be had late in the draft or FA.
In regards to defense, it's the strength of the team. Once you get Wilkins and Koonce back, it becomes a game changer. You already have Maxx who, which goes without saying, is one of the best defensive players in the league. Then there's up and coming players like Diablo, Pao Malo, Moehrig, a very underated Spillane, Hobbs, and Jakorian Bennet who has actually been developing into a shut down corner believe it or not,
The reason for a HC to come here is, the owner is hands off if you win or even show progress. You can have alot of control, although, I think it works better when the coach is not making final decision on draft picks. You can get your QB and chances are Raiders will be in position to get one of the top 2 or 3 QBs. You have alot of money to spend on free agency meaning you can recruit free agency players who will follow you and other top FAs at key positions (like Wilkins), and there's no state tax if that helps with FAs. Also the facilities and stadium are top notch. A new HC can pretty much mold this team any way he wants, especially on offense. Had Gruden not f[raiders_icon]cked up the draft picks, HE would have been light years ahead, even so he still had the team humming in his 3rd year.
Its no secret that Mark will pay the right guy and get out of his way to work..Had McDipshit not lost the locker room as bad as he did, he probably gets another year. Also any argument that the stadium has opposing fans, I'm not buying that bullshit. Harbough went to the LA Chargers and they're the 4th most popular team in their home town behind USC, Rams, And UCLA.
So they're you have it, these other teams are not light years ahead IMO. And there's more than enough reasons to come to the Raiders, a galaxy far far away with a story of success a long long time ago..just needs the right guy to bring it back to greatness. See Detroit..
Great post.

Hopefully, there is a coach who likes and believes in TT. I am going to go on the assumption that we will end up with Ward or Sanders (I know, never assume especially with the Raiders). This may help an offensive minded coach (who likes these guys) come to the dark side. We ARE A SHIT SHOW, but stranger things have happened.
Not advocating for Kiffin but the dude could offensively coach circles around the guts you mentioned. It's too bad The Raiders didn't get this version of Kiffin
Maybe so, but to me it would be a big fat waste of time on the hopes things would turn out differently "this time" why even go down that traveled road again. Its like giving McDaniels a 3rd chance to prove he's a lousy coach, i always thought why are we doing this? There are plenty of coaching candidates available who haven't already failed as nfl coaches especially with Raiders.
