This is what I been wondering all along, how many posters in here will stop being Raiders fans if Derek Carr gets an extension? I think there might be a handful posters in here will stop being Raiders fans.
They talk big games just like celebrities where going to leave the country when 45 was elected. The idiot celebrities never left and are still irrelevant.
That is absurd. I am a Raider fan, have been for decades through hell and great times. I just happen to believe Carr is not part of the problem. When he leaves, whether it be this off season, years from now or somewhere in between, I will be a Raider fan through and through.
I loved Khalil Mack, was distraught when we traded him, but I sure as heck will never be a Bears fan. I am a Raider forever.
same, i was devastated when the raiders traded mack a day before the season start
i love mack, but i love the raiders more
i just want the raiders quit f[raiders_icon]cking it around and do whatever it take to complete for super bowls

A $32+ million per year Derek Carr relegates the team to mediocrity until that contract is over.
The regular season was consistent in terms of showing what level of play you need from your starting QB, and the postseason has put an exclamation mark on it.
You either have a suffocating defense or a superstar QB. There's no in between anymore. The NFL rules have destroyed the viability of a balanced team. Therefore, we can't afford Derek Carr at market price. He needs to cost $15,000,000 or less. But we all know he won't do that, so he needs to be traded.
I honestly don't see what leverage he has under the current and foreseeable circumstances. We can get the same point production from Mariota, or at least close to it. And we could get Mariota for under $10 million while trying to build a top 5 D.
But again, if Carr is re-signed to a big contract, I may be out until he's gone.

There is a segment of Carr fans on Twitter & FB I absolutely believe will become fans of the team he goes to. Just like Tim Tebow. I don't have the tweet in front of me. One was saying yesterday he hopes Carr gets a ten, year contract because he loves him. Said he doesn't care if he's worth it or not...

People are entitled to their own opinion but I will say the opinions on this thread are a minority of what many Raiders fans regarding Carr. Raider fans will still support the Raider if Derek Carr is the Raider QB or not. I believe Derek Carr is a game manager and there have been all worse QB since Gannon than Derek Carr. You did not stop wanting to be Raider fans when Raiders could barely games with Art Shell 2.0. What makes Derek Carr so different, I don't think it is his QB play. I think it is more or less the image you have of Derek Carr.

He was booed out of Vegas. The entire stadium was tomahawk chopping this year in Vegas by the third quarter.
Just saying, I believe it is closer to 50/50 but that is purely anecdotal.
As to players leaving the team, there would be a few if signed and a few if not. Very few and far between though.
Personally I saw Carr as a one and done ceiling guy 4 years ago - still watching and still loved the crap out of last season. It is what it is.
This is all just guesswork anyhow, who knows how it turns out. We can put high probabilities on things but that is all. For example, If we draft Jerry Rice, Reggie White, Bo Jackson, and Lawrence Taylor next draft - imo we can possibly win the only game that matters with Carr. Things are fluid.
Btw, big fan of your posts lately. You upped your game sir.

Mitchell Renz ran a poll on twitter on which QB is better.....
(Edit) I absolutely think most of them that voted for Carr are Carr 1st fans & not Raiders fans or Carr 1st Raiders 2nd fans....
39.1% think Carr is better than Herbert 1444 votes...
62% think Carr is better than Jackson 2082 votes
20.5% think Carr is better than Mahomes 1074 votes
19.1% think Carr is better than Josh Allen 1100 votes
38.1% think Carr is better than Burrow 1199 votes

I will be somewhat in the minority here, but I believe Carr is the negotiating piece on the GM/HC search. Mark went to the playoffs with him twice and I think anyone who comes here is going to be told that if they are not on board with Carr they are not going to be considered for the job. I also think Mark loves the offense, he was vocal on Ruggs being the guy he wanted. I can see Mark letting the defense hang around the 20th ranking if he can get the offense to the top 5. I can see him investing in the line and a RB/WR combo with more impact on the game. There is enough evidence out there that makes me pretty confident this is the case.
But a 5 year deal around 35M per is certainly something that is likely as well, Carr is not going to give a discount and Mark is not going to let that keep him from signing Carr

I am a fan, I hope the decisions they make are going to get me a Lombardi before I die, I have been disappointed for decades. But that does not mean I do not come back for more disappointment.
