Also upon quick glance the play the chiefs ran for the TD in OT was very similar to our final play in cincy. Mahomes hit the right receiver for the TD

I don't know how anyone could watch the games we've just seen this weekend and STILL insist that Carr is going to cut it. He's just not good enough.

I feel its not just, hey let's get anyone but Carr because we're sick of the team losing.

You need the proper coaching in place to develop the talent and a GM to draft correct.

All these great QBs we talk about also have great coaches and in place for their entire careers with a couple exceptions. No?

We change our coaching staff! All the time.
Since 2000 the Raiders have had 12 head coaches.

Whats the average?
Less than 2 years per?

How can you develop and maintain success like this.

It's way more than hey lets change the QB but I feel the same pain of losing.

It's about coaching first.
Say what you want but it is

Any bets on that final play in Cinc a Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Watson, Jackson get the ball in the end zone and dont throw it short.... The worst part is these guys are all young & mobile. Not statues...

Imagine if Carr was sacked 9 times. I doubt you wouldn't see any fumbles....

Say what you want but it is
We are working on the coaching problem. Gruden sucked.

However, this argument applies to literally every QB that never took his team anywhere, there is not one thing in it specific to Carr. It just sounds like a blanket 'get out of jail free' card. Losing means change something, sadly it has never been the QB. Simple actions and consequences man.

Carr had 4 years in essentially the same offense. This is his ceiling. It took him two years to finally not play bottom 12 and these last two got him to maybe 13-15. Guess what, new offense incoming. Guess what, rookies are consistently getting drafted and outplaying him.

He is Kirk Cousins four years later at his absolute ceiling. Do you sign Kirk Cousins for 35 million a year? If the answer is no, then we need to move on from Carr.

He is not Stafford, Stafford has never once been in Carr's lower tier. Not once. He is Kirk fuggn Cousins, an expensive ass placeholder and limiting to his own offense.

This team is so damn far from carrying Kirk Cousins to a SuperBowl. Why try, just get the picks and start making better plans.

* Almost forgot, Kirk plays a hell of a lot better than a sub 70 passer rating in the playoffs. Jared Goff might be a better comparison.

Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes stats for the last 4 games they have played vs each other, Chiefs are 3-1 in those games(2 regular season, 2 postseason over last 2 seasons).

Josh Allen:
1,044 passing yards
11 touchdown passes
2 interception
257 rushing yards
1 rushing touchdown
0 fumbles
0 fumbles lost

Patrick Mahomes:
1,200 passing yards
10 touchdown passes
2 interceptions
171 rushing yards
1 rushing touchdown
2 fumbles
1 fumble lost

Derek Carr and Patrick Mahomes stats for the last 4 games they have played vs each other, Chiefs are 3-1 in those games(4 regular season, over last 2 seasons).

Derek Carr:
1,146 passing yards
9 touchdown passes
4 interceptions
25 rushing yards
0 rushing touchdowns
1 fumble
1 fumble lost

Patrick Mahomes:
1,352 passing yards
11 touchdown passes
2 interceptions
57 rushing yards
1 rushing touchdown
1 fumble
0 fumbles lost

Crazy similar stats, only thing that really stands out is that Josh Allen rushes for yards and doesn't fumble. Also Josh Allen had 3 more overall touchdowns than Carr and 3 less turnovers than Carr in those 4 games.

People usually complain about Carr not rushing for yards and turning the ball over and rightfully so, those things are the difference makers most of the time vs a team with a high powered offense like the chiefs.

The bills have had one of, if not the best defense the last 2 years, yet they still can't stop Reid/Mahomes like the Raiders.

Well that was f[raiders_icon]cking eye-opening wasn’t it? Not for those who sweat with the effort to keep the scales pressed firmly to their eyes, but us who know this team ain’t close to there yet. Not even close. It’s not insurmountable, but wow. Those dudes were f[raiders_icon]cking dynamic.

Do we keep Carr? Of course not. Why? What use is that? Would we want Rodgers? No. No reason at all anymore. Wilson? Nah, too late for that. Someone put up a list of the available QB’s, and the only one I thought was worth it was Trubisky. Not for what he’s shown me, but because he’d come at a decent price, and he’s the only one on the list that’s got the possible storyline that ends up with protagonists like Favre and Plunkett. Let Mariota or him earn the starting job in the preseason.

While that’s happening…

Yup, ya gotta keep swingin’ for a QB in the draft, but after last night, I think we should be trying to build the f[raiders_icon]cking ‘85 bears, the 2000 Ravens, or the “Legion of Boom”, before we go all in on drafting a QB. Unless of course a “can’t miss” shows up. Having said that, Mahomes and Allen weren’t even consensus good picks when they were drafted. None the less, here they are, in the AFC, for years to come. And anyone hoping their athleticism diminishes, are disregarding that their Football IQ keeps growing.

At least we are where we need to be in some respects. New GM and Coaches on the way, and if we get that right, pray we draft studs.

Got a bit long-winded there. I’ll end this all with a question. What’s the more difficult lottery to win? The one that gets you a bonafide star at QB, or the one that gets you a historical Defense?

Fyi, ‘85 Bears, Jim McMahon QB, $650,000. 2000 Ravens, Trent Dilfer QB, $1,000,000. ‘13 Seahawks, Russell Wilson QB, $526,217.
The Chargers D is awful. I suspect that's where most of L.A.'s efforts are going to go to this offseason.

Oh, and maybe if their HC wasn't such a boob in 4th down situations they would've won at least a couple more games.

Show me a QB throwing almost 40 TD passes in just his second season and I'll show you a team that doesn't have QB issues.
Winning QB know how to win and losing QB know how to lose. We can make all the excuses in the world for Herbert but it does not change the fact that his team win/loss record shows what he is. It does not matter of you are a second year QB or 8th year, some QB have won Superbowls in their second year like Big Ben. Joe Burrow is in the same draft class as Herbert but Joe has the mentality to know how to win, he did it in college winning a championship and went deep in playoffs. If Joe can stay healthy, he is going to win a Superbowl in his career.
