Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide

Unread post by RunOverByHubbard »

Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

I wouldn’t use T. Hill to scrape shit off my shoe.

Thinking we need a Pickens, Evans or AJ Brown type guy is asinine. Yes, Brock is capable, and will, play multiple positions. I don't understand what your complaint is with that. He's a matchup nightmare wherever he lines up and doesnt need help to get open.

Brock, Mayer, Pierce, Tucker, Bech (who i think takes a big year 2 jump) and maybe a 2nd day WR are plenty enough. Add in a complimentary RB to spell Jeanty and I couldn't be happier with the offensive skill positional group.
Noticed you didn’t mention Thornton who I think has as good a chance at a year 2 leap as Bech.

Didn't mention him for a reason. I never liked the pick and don't think he will amount to anything. I've said he is the Anthony Richardson of WRs.

My opinion of course.

Fair enough. I like his size and speed on the outside, although he needs help on his route tree and contested catch rate. Speed isn’t the only thing that creates separation but it sure helps and can’t be taught.

Meh..... speed can be marginally improved. There's no teaching that can make Bech run like Thornton. I think Bech is much more likely to have an impact as a WR, but it's not going to be from "learning" to run faster.

Guys with his lack of college production rarely amount to anything in the NFL. There's a reason a guy with his size n speed went in the 4th round. He's just not all that good at football.

I hope I'm wrong.

What - you don’t want to even “kick the tires” on Hill?

Plus, I thought I had read, Hill may not even be ready to play in the 2026 season due to his injury.

For free agency and the draft, WR is low on my priority list. Same with TE, K, and even QB.
