I think Miami Dolphins will be out of Watson's sweepstakes. The owner like Tua and will pick a head coach who likes Tua. The owner fired Flores because Brian did not want to keep Tua.

No need for an extension, they have the franchise tag they can use.
No need for an extension, they have the franchise tag they can use.
Snyder and Jerry Jones have franchised a top 15 QB. They are arguably the worst, most narcissistic owners in the NFL.
Is Mark cutthroat enough to put Carr on the field without guarantees or a tag? Al no question would have. I recall Mark signing off on millions to players like Jordy post season just to say thanks before he retired though.
I just don't see Mark doing that. Carr was a part of this playoff team and he wants to be liked/seen as a good owner imo.
Franchise and non-guaranteed seasons as a top 15 QB? I think we all agree that is doing a player dirty. Neither Mayock or Mark are cutthroats imo, maybe the next coach is our best shot.
* Btw - per the linked thread from Srv5490.
2 SuperBowl winning rookies and Wentz/Foles at 1 million a year gets an honorable mention in the last 10 years.
No high paid QBs have won.
On average, the last 10 Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks have accounted for 8.4 percent of a team’s salary cap, according to overthecap.com.
Follow the money. Top 10 offenses and defenses in the same year get a shot at it. Cheap QBs make that possible.
I cant believe anyone would put this game on Carr....oh wait....I forgot where I was posting.
Penalties on offense cost us this game.....
Oh you can't believe a guy who had the worst red zone percentage of any QB in the last 15 years in the playoffs and had more turnovers than TD's is getting a good amount of the blame for this game? What's even more unbelievable is how many of you are satisfied with this shit.

It's below market, I just think the market is f[raiders_icon]cked for established QB's who are in that middle ground - I think teams tend to pay too much for what they get.

With all that talent and great coaching we should’ve easily gone on the road and beat a division winner that as recently as two weeks ago beat the Chiefs and had all their starters rested going into today.
It’s ok to accept the better team won today.

At the bare minimum let the new coaching staff decide what to do with the QB position. Mark will seriously be limiting the pool of potential hires interfering with player management.

Once Gruden came in they went down to 22, 22, 23, and 27. Gruden’s red zone offense and playcalling is terrible
I held my tongue (largely) on this until today, but exactly right. I've also posted this in several threads.
There is NO WAY that those last four games were sustainable. We were extremely lucky to get out of those with a win. That's why I don't see how people think we are good to go for next year when it could very easily be a repeat of 2017.
We were really lucky in 2016 also.

The guy is what he is. He's a middle of the road player regardless of system, surrounding personnel, or coaching. He excels in the two minute offense, but is often shut down for long stretches of games and he'll get shut down almost completely for about 4 games per season. He's a one read quarterback, slow to get through progressions unless he has a block wall in front of him. He averages a little more than 7 wins per year (7.125).
This season he had more turnovers than touchdown passes. He's about a 19-22 TD passes per year player.
He's had everything from bad personnel around him to very good personnel around him and in the end, it's all about the same.
He's been in the same system for four years, and while there has certainly been progress, he's still an overall average player. He had a good scramble for a first down tonight, but that's not going to suddenly be part of his game. Why not? Hell if I know.
That "horrible" play call on the final fourth down had Waller either wide open or one on one if Carr waits literally half a second. You want Carr's red zone struggles wrapped up in one play, well, there you go. And that's not going to get better.
It only makes sense to keep Carr if he'll play for $20 million or so per year. Then we may be able to build out a team that won't have to rely on him to be the primary reason we win games. But he won't play for that. Someone will give him about 50% more. So we can either keep riding the same old bike, or get everything we can in trade and go about finding a better way to win games.

The way qbs are getting paid he’s be selling himself short by at least then million a year. 20 million for all he’s done this year is an insult.
