...seems like I remember that same refusal to adjust from something that is obviously not working from that oc......Goodtimes333 wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 9:01 am I'm shocked the Pats didn't come out with 6 offensive linemen every snap to start the second half. It takes a receiver out of the pattern but my goodness, do something

This is great. I'm trying hard to stay calm and not drink the Koolaid. I'm sure it will work this time...I think. I will get all giddy when we actually become a real team again. I have to admit though............... this is f[raiders_icon]cking great!

I posted before a Chase Daniels analysis of the TD indicating the same strategy Kubiak used to bait the Pats D into thinking it was an outside Zone run. Here is an endzone perspective of the same play—watch the whole video

I'm just hoping the kid in the white hoodie isn't the new oline coach.

Great write up. Now if you want to have fun reading there is one seahawk fan in particular who thinks this is Macdonalds offense and Kubiak was just running it. Hes sure that they will be even better and that Kubiak was holding them back.Willmark wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 4:39 pm The offensive philosophy of Kubiak calling plays is a massive shift from what we have seen for years. This is not about play design per se, it is about structure and exploiting the weaknesses of the Defense. Not so much of the Offense getting it right, as it is making sure the opponents Defense gets it wrong.
Kubiak thrives on mismatches. He attacks defensive scheme, not individual defenders. That is a huge difference from McDaniels, who needed everything to be perfect and QB driven; didn't hurt that he had Brady to do the heavy lifting. Kubiak assumes things will break and builds the offense so it still functions when things go south of cheese.
Running base 12 personnel with Bowers and Mayer should be the foundation. That forces defenses into bad choices every snap. Go base and Bowers eats linebackers for breakfast. Go nickel and Jeanty runs rampant. Double team Bowers? He might still get open and you still have to content with Mayer. The WRs don't need to be a "WR1" because there is going to be a lot to manage year 1 in the Offense. Plus cost, plus (likely) drama? If we lucked into one sure, by all means. But we also don't know what we have with Besh or Thornton.
The closest historical comparison is the 2011 Patriots, as much as I hate to say it. That offense was not built around wide receivers. It was built around tight ends, mismatches, and forcing defenses to be wrong. Not the same talent level, but the same idea. Kubiak is a smart guy, but also smart enough to use the pieces he has, not the one's he wishes he had.
Would be great to have a all-world WR sure, but that hasn't traditionally worked well for us in FA. Add to this Mendoza year 1. He's talented but not experienced. Its going to take time before he can fully utilize all the pieces in the Offense.

I’m glad Mark wasn’t. He ruins all the pics he’s in.bringdafunk wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 7:48 pm Kinda surprised Brady or Mark wasn't in any of the photos.
