Game Day Thread, Raiders Visit Foxboro

Mild temps and a chance of rain/wind as our Raiders travel east.
Raiders are +3.5 and the over/under is 44.5.
On tap, my vegetable soup and crusty bread. I will enjoy a local brew called Rhinodart and if you can find it I highly recommend it.
With the spread, the oddsmakers have us just a tiny bit worse than the most recent AFC Champions.
Gonna be a fun one. Enjoy the game.

Need to at least attempt some deep shots. Kirk hasn't been getting time to throw, but damn. Stacked boxes are working against us now. Not opposed to seeing if FM can come in and spread it out a bit.
Because they know Kirk won’t go downfield. He had Tucker for a wide open touchdowm. Kirk is showing what he’s always been, a solid quarterback who played out of this world the first 4 games

On the ringer podcast they said it has been as bad as ever like the fans come to see them. They are starting a referee fantasy league lmao

Might be time to get Mendoza in there. Give him some playing time.
I was about to say the same thing. I have nothing against Cousins but I would consider getting Mendoza in there to get him some reps.

If worst comes to worst we will be 3-2 through the first 5 games. This has exceeded everyone's off season expectations.
Which is why i really only cared about getting the systems installed this year, but Fernando has to start getting playing time at some point

Another year of solid free agents and a draft and we get to see Mendoza.
It’s a process I guess

Yep. Daring him to go downfield and he's not doing it. His arm may be shot.

Kirk is a sitting duck back there. Mendoza at least would be a rushing threat and shake up the offensive dynamic
With this O-line and no running game, Mendoza would get nuked. Cousins has had four good games and this one doesn't look great, but this one isn't his fault.

I predicted clunkers and not to go off rails about them. The secondary looks talented but young and inexperienced. Except Stokes and Chinn. They need experience too and will learn and improve.
We still have another year to try and cover the remaining glaring problems. A bottom roster cant be fixed in a year. I think they can remain competitive in most games and exceed modest expectations. I also like Kubiak but he's also learning on the job. The Bad hires caused the constant instability at HC/GM but I think we might have a good combo finally and still looking forward to our future. The Raiders will probably lose a few more bad ones but Im optimistic on direction and haven't given up on season yet either. Im confident one more year of roster improvement can make them a huge difference.
Im rambling because this game pisses me off and Im trying to be positive. f[raiders_icon]ck this shit so far today though. Gawwwd.

Couple things I’ve found:
- this is the consequence when you’re defence is more opportunistic than they are good. Once the turnovers stop you need stops. Obviously that’s not happening today.
- offensively, you start to see the holes when games turn into boat races. There’s only so much you can manufacture for bowers when the defence knows you’re passing. And once you strip away the playaction game we’re starting to see Kirk struggle to find places to go with the ball.
- the Pats are a major notch up in terms of quality of opponents compared to the ones we’ve beaten even with the injuries.

We kinda of knew they weren't world beaters coming into the season. Im not going to 2.5 quarters keep from believing the team is on an upward trajectory. I fully expect a lot the holes to addressed in the off-season. Id like to see them fight for the 1.5 quarters though. Let's go!!!
