A good coach puts players in a position to successful. They have the ability to change their philosophy (ie not have a huge ego) to adapt to their players strengths instead of having players adapt to them (square peg in round hole) despite their players limitations.

You referred to McVay and McDonald as though they are coaches who have lost the locker room and don't do well over time. I have no idea how you could come to that conclusion. I'll take beta McVay any day of the week thank you.
I meant McDaniel not Mckay, my bad

Did you mean to include McDonald? He’s only had 2 seasons and is the first seed in the second, hard to claim he’s lost the room.

I just think Mike is better being an OC than a head coach.

I’m interested by your points, but the names didn’t seem to fit. I think it’s too soon to judge on McDonald.
Or were you referring to mcdaniel when you say Mike? McDonald is a defensive guy.
Got other names where we’ve seen more of a body of work?

I can’t say I was really interested in Harbaugh but this confirms my feelings.

Whoa!! In recent years I put John Har. as an elite head coach that anyone would want to have, including me. 20mil a year is a little more then I’d be ok with(but the going rate for elite candidates), for him atm. The 10mil for staff is perfectly fine to me because, I do want an elite staff &, money talks.
But the full authority over the roster &, pick his own GM…FV$K YOU SIR!! GTFO. I hope he’s not in consideration here after hearing this. Like you, I was already getting this feeling as well. That I didn’t want him as much I thought these past few years.

Couldn't care less about paying him 20 million but no roster control and picking a puppet GM.

I’d like harbaugh and the financial part I don’t give a shit about. We don’t need a full control head coach right now though. We need a standard structure and improve the organization as a whole

I don't care much about what a head coach makes. I want the head coach to have whatever budget he wants for a staff. Full control and hire his own GM...... that's a no for me. I understand why he wants it, and I think he might get all that. I hope, and believe, it won't be with the Raiders.

Whats interesting about a lot of these successful coaches who want full control is that they were at their best and did their winning when they didn't have that.

Just Kubiak in for an interview today. It in person of course because of the rules. But wonder if they get McDaniels in for an interview along with Harbaugh. Doubt Harbaugh would want the job and we’ll want him, but makes sense to talk to him
Please don't ever add the "S" to the McDaniel last name again.

Have the Raiders even contacted Harbaugh for an interview? I just don’t see the fit for either side.
