I’m shocked our front office and coaching staff aren’t on the same page lol.

Spytec’s free agency moves (or lack thereof) clearly pointed towards a rebuilding year. I don’t understand how Pete wouldn’t have known this was the team’s direction. I just think he overestimated his ability to turn things around. Like adding Smith and injecting his rah-rah was going to turn the team into the Seahawks. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pete steps down at the end of the season.

I think the way the draft is panning out position wise we would look at someone like Peter Woods in the 1st as Mendoza, Simpson, Moore(?) and Bain would have gone and then perhaps Ioane in the 2nd.raiderjohn wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 4:34 am Yep, both lines. We need to sign 2 monster interiors guys to go with JPJ, week after week, Meredith, was lunch for every defensive line we faced. IF that game wrecking DT is available in the first, you jump on it. Pair that with the DT depth we've built with Butler/Laulu. Both lines are a problem.
BPA you’re probably looking at Caleb Downs 5th/6th pick or we try to accumulate picks and hope that if we throw enough darts some will turn into serviceable starters/rotation pieces for us.

Caleb Downs would be like drafting Bowers on the defensive side. I wouldn't be mad at it but you would need to address the trenches and QB for the remainder of the draft..AND THEN PLAY THEMSpurs Raider wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 10:45 am I think the way the draft is panning out position wise we would look at someone like Peter Woods in the 1st as Mendoza, Simpson, Moore(?) and Bain would have gone and then perhaps Ioane in the 2nd.

They never seemed to jibe, even at the hiring pc's. If you're building towards a future why even entertain the idea of hiring a 74 yr old hc? Was it forced on him? If so by who? You would think Brady would be on the same page as far as building the team and sustaining it for a period of time. Maybe Mark? We all know he gets infatuated with his flavor of the week. He's also given the hc control, and this draft seemed to be a very Pete Carroll draftheavyD wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 10:36 am Spytec’s free agency moves (or lack thereof) clearly pointed towards a rebuilding year. Any rate, this franchise can't seem to get out of its own way. The absolute only common denominator in this whole thing is that there's always been a Davis doing the hiring and firing. Maybe that's the problem

You have to keep the front office in the hopes of having some continuity. Id like to move on from Pete despite the constant coaching chances. We need someone who is ok with building for the future and ceding roster decision making to Spytek. I think its obvious Pete had final say in the offseason

Yep, very reminiscent of Bowers but key point is what you’ve alluded to in that the coaching staff has to trust the rookies more over short term fixes and washed up has-beens.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 10:49 am Caleb Downs would be like drafting Bowers on the defensive side. That’s why it would seem Carroll ‘n co are heading for the inevitable exit above all else with it seemingly a clear conflict strategy wise from front office to coaching staff.

The contunued issue with all these veteran retreads is the lack of trying to draft a franchise qb. If you bring in someone like Geno, Jimmy or Minshew along with a top young talent and they stink, so what as you are just biding time for the young guy.

It's hard to believe with how bad we've been, we're still out of drafting a top 2 QB next year without giving up a lot. Hard to believe there are 5 worse teams.

Am I mad to think we go another draft without taking another high pick QB?!DanKD wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 11:28 am The contunued issue with all these veteran retreads is the lack of trying to draft a franchise qb. Right now, we stand at the #6 pick.Spurs Raider wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 11:41 am Am I mad to think we go another draft without taking another high pick QB?!
Neither the Giants or the Titans are going to take a QB because they took first rounders in 2025. The problem is the Jets, Saints, and Browns. They're all at 2-8.
We play the Browns next week and it's difficult to see how we lose to them, especially if Sanders starts at QB. 10 points might win that game for us. We also play the Giants which at this point seems like a toss up.
However, the Saints play the Browns and the Jets. Someone's gotta lose those games. The Browns also play the Titans, so someone has to lose that game.
It looks like we could end up with 3-4 wins. At 3 wins, we'd be top 5.
If the Saints beat the Browns and Jets, it would move us up to 3-4 position. If that's the case, and the Giants and Titans are 1 and 2, then we're primed to get the top QB without having to trade anything.
I could definitely be wrong, but if not, we may finally land a top QB prospect. I'm on board with others here in hoping that we can land Medoza, but I wouldn't cry over Moore or Simpson.

What also bothers me the hiring of sons to be intricate part of his coaching staff. Theres no accountability there - Oline is terrible - a good oline coach can create ways to help weaker players by moving the pocket, experimenting with different blocking schemes, and shifting the guys around. This guy does nothing but delegate JPJ to guard when he was better suited to play center, then rely on a couple of car salesman in Putnam and Meredith totally leaving Rogers and Grant sidelined. Oh but he let Putnam play center..Spurs Raider wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 11:27 am Yep, very reminiscent of Bowers but key point is what you’ve alluded to in that the coaching staff has to trust the rookies more over short term fixes and washed up has-beens.

Want a Dark Horse QB candidate? See if the Eagles will part with Tanner McKee. 25 years old, 6'6" 231 pounds and some local Eagles fans think he would fit the Eagles offense better than Hurts and are actually calling for him to start. I don't agree with all that but he could be a fallback option if we can't land our guy in the draft.
