Predict the 2026 record - your realistic expectations

Unread post by Viper »

With Mendoza needing time to adjust, an unproven O line and what I consider average receivers, I’m not really expecting to light it up on offense.

Defensively, we should be at least middle of the pack. That should go a long ways in helping stack wins.

Having said that, we are improved across the board yet still more work to do. I would predict we have 6 wins this year, double what we had last year. If Pete can manage 3 last year, I have faith with a better coaching staff we can do better. If we can beat the teams we’re supposed to plus staying close in the 4th quarter against better talent, we have a punchers chance in some of those.

Personally, at least another year or two to make some real noise if we nail FA and the draft.

Linderbaum and the coaching is going to help Jeanty.

I'm going 1200 yards this year.

I'll take that right now...that alone should probably equate to another 4-5 TDs more this year than last...and I believe that we lost 4-5 games last year by 1 TD or less.

You know we've been Raider fans for a LONG time when competent looks like a good season

That should put us at the 6 or 7 wins I am expecting this year.

I believe we lost 4 games last year by a combined 7 points. Definitely could see closing some of those out to put in the win column.

Probably a lot like many of us tho in that we want to see proof on the field, not on paper. I totally get it.
My guess… Mendoza pick is well received but he’s not playing early and potentially doesn’t play year 1. McCoy is another loved pick. It was great value in the 4th but is a huge question. If he doesn’t play they won’t ding us but they also won’t count him towards improved games. Stukes, is interesting and I hope he pans out but is a classic GM thinks he’s smarter move. Stukes wasn’t the next S expected off the board. Plus people will compare that against McDonald who was a borderline 1st and expected to be great against the run day 1 or Hood who was also a late 1st and walks into CB1 on day 1. Moves like Zuhn, Crawford and Washington Jr are well received but also aren’t expected to start day 1. They’re floor raisers and bringing up the depth.

I like our offseason even if things didn’t break perfectly or how I’d have gone about it. I think most are also waiting to see it on the field.

To be fair when it comes to win loss, it needs to be better 17 other teams not the whole league. Idk, I think like most in here were optimistic but need to see it on the field.

I think the only way Mendoza doesn’t play is if Cousins is on pace to lead us to a playoff berth. Highly doubtful.

I don’t necessarily agree that some of our picks that you mentioned need to be starters, quite the opposite actually. Depth and rotational players.

I understand your position on Stukes but in my mind wasn’t a reach at all. The kid can ball. He looks like a player I would put the label of “first, fast and furious “ on. He will see the field early is my guess, and like you, hope they pan out for us.

I’m tired of the wasted years. I’m tired of the “well this will be the foundational year for future success.”

It feels so different from VGK, who operate ruthlessly and will do absolutely anything to win, and win now. I hope that the Raiders can find a similar standard, and sooner rather than later. I’m tired of the losing.

Hope everyone’s having a great Memorial Day.

Agreed. I cant understand for the life of me anyone that has patience when it comes to this team and even worse, tells others they need to have patience.

agree
I think the Raiders should have 2 hours a week, optional, movies and vids night of who the Raiders once were.

Vids on solo players and thier commitment to f[raiders_icon]ck shit up.
They can start with, "Highway 63 and 78". Otherwise know as The Mummy and the Gentle Giant.

And then flip to defense and show them about Man Mountain. Aka John Matuszak, aka "The Tooz".

Add in the Assaian, The Stork aka
"Kick 'Em In The Head Ted", Dr Death, The Snake, The Ghost. Who's missing?

The Soul Patrol: The legendary 1970s defensive secondary consisting of Jack Tatum, George Atkinson, Skip Thomas, and Willie Brown should be a good one.

To say Linderbaum could learn a thing or two from Otto would be an understatement.

Start with this

I have a feeling that the mystique of Raiders past is what keeps us loyal to the Raiders present hoping for a return to the glory days.
