No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.
Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

The Packers are smart. This is the kind of move that you make when you may be one player away from being in contention (only dumb teams would make a big trade when they have a SHIT team and NO shot - see Adams). Parsons has not even reached his prime. Parsons will have a chip on his should and I think he will be this years defensive player of the year (at a minimum).

Cowboys won the trade for me.
Parsons and pay him more than Patrick Mahomes… 47m per year!!!
Give me the 2 first round picks and the Pro bowl DT.

That's were I am at.
They see what the eagles did with a decent QB and to me that is all Love is. Thing is, they don't have a Saquon Barkley to hand the ball off to on there team. Josh Jacobs is no Saquon Barkley by any stretch of the imagination. I would also contend that even with the addition of Parsons, that the eagles have a better defense.
I don't think a Barkley-esque year is a requirement considering Jacobs is still an upper level contributor, but I do believe they are short a handful of elite players to be considered Superbowl favorites, even with Parsons. They also have a lot of young talent playing on expiring deals, which they'll have a hard time retaining thanks to the blown cap on Parsons, or replace due to being without 1st rounders. They're moving all of their chips to the middle of the table, it'll be interesting if the cards fall in their favor.

I tend to agree on paper, but at the same time it puts Green Bay in a place where they have to be one of the top teams in the NFC. With their run game and now their defense, they can match up to any team in the league. That was a win now move but Parsons is young enough that it is win now and win for a number of years type of move.

I think the moves makes their defense a little better than last year and their offense is about the same. This is their all in year and I just don't think the have the cards.

If Jerry would of signed him before Max it would of been upper 30s per year. Those two 1st will be mid high twenties. I will give Jerry credit, he does draft well. He makes terrible contracts though.

Agreed. Packers allocating almost 40% of their cap to two players is not wise. No player on that team is going to be willing to take a hometown discount after this, which means they will lose talent and not have the picks to replace it. Jones got a haul, including a PB DT on a very reasonable extension with low guaranteed money, while avoiding a contract ask that is not sustainable. He did as well as he possibly could.

It's a win now move for the Packers. Maybe 2026 as well, but once those numbers start to hit the cap, it will be ugly, kick in that there is very little to bridge the economics draft wise. The signing bonus should keep his cap hits at bay for at least 2 years. Then when the base/roster bonuses start rising, hitting possibly in 2027, the proverbial kick that can down the street/restructure, he will start having 70M cap hits come 2028. Cowboys did well, getting a ready to go player in Clark, with no guaranteed money, 1.3 cap hit this year and 8.8 next year and of course the 2 first rounders.

It could happen a lot sooner. The WR market is in shambles, who is gonna catch the ball for them in 2026? They have mediocre options now on expiring deals. Golden has a ton of pressure to develop into a #1 option immediately.

Receiver help? 2026 draft is not going to have a lot of star power but it is shaping up to be deep with solid prospects. It even looks pretty damn good with the third and fourth round graded guys. Of course that changes if guys stick another year but this is going to be a good receiver draft. That is also good for us if we don't have a guy really emerge on the team.

Change of Pace from the trade, our favorite topic: officiating!
PS: remember, there are lies, damn lies , and then there are statistics.
PPS: unsurprisingly (I think), their conclusion seems to be that bad officiating has not influenced wins and losses.

History shows you're not going to win a superbowl with 3rd and 4th round picks being your #1 receiver. Rams might have done it, but they had Aaron Donald and Matthew Stafford. I think Green Bay is banking on Golden who I'm high on but it's definitely a gamble. They're not remotely as good as the Eagles were before they traded for AJ Brown. And the Eagles didn't get over the hump until they added multiple other 1st round skill position talents after Brown. I'm skeptical the Packers are ready for this all in move. I think they needed a few more pieces, and now they will lack the resources to get those guys.
