I turned 75 years old this morning....
Born May 30, 1951 in Eureka California. Been a Raiders fan since September 1969. So most of my 3/4 of a century has been with the Silver and Black. I'll never give up the hope of winning a fourth Lombardi Trophy. Two major health issues in the book now, and slowly getting better from each surgery. The support from the Forum was wonderful and so much appreciated. It gave my wife a new angle on Raiders fans and football fans in general.
If you care to, tell me if you are in your 70's. Just curious but no big deal.

Happy Birthday Hubbard. Fan since 68,69. Like the rest I hope to see another Lombardi hoisted so I can share the experience with my 2 sons who had no say in their choice of the team they would end up being fans of. Nice to hear you are on the mend and always appreciate your input on the site.

Happy birthday. I'm not in my 70s, but I was born and raised in Eureka also. Grandparents ran a storage facility (all I remember was the orange doors
) and we lived up on Lundblade Hills. I miss that area.
Glad your doing better.

Happy birthday Hubbard; I am about 12 years behind you……
Like to see the raiders win another but it a 1/32 chance of winning the SB; so the odds are not great…truth is; just like to see raiders make playoffs on a regular basic; think we gotta do that first before we start talking Superbowls

Thanks guys. I know people don’t post birthdays here as otherwise we would have almost one a day but since it was a big one (75) I appreciate your acceptance and acknowledgement.
For us “old-timers”, we still have that glow inside that the Raiders have ignited in us but - that glow is fading or or buried deep inside. For that reason, the Gannon/Gruden short-lived era was such a high. Since then, well, we all suffer together and await for the fixes to be permanent.
BTW, while born in Eureka (St. Joseph’s Hospital which was rebuilt a long time ago) my family left there after two years. It was then Santa Rosa, Modesto, Salt Lake City, finally my formative years in San Jose. I still love visiting the Eureka/Arcata region - so quiet, so beautiful and the clean air. Now — on to my last quarter century! And - multiple Lombardis.

Thanks! Since we finally drafted a QB that was a consensus “right choice” I am thinking the playoffs are achievable in a year or two.

When we can block and tackle we'll be legit. Could happen soon, could happen on your 85th.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2026 11:48 am Thanks! Since we finally drafted a QB that was a consensus “right choice” I am thinking the playoffs are achievable in a year or two.

Big belated Happy Birthday to ya. Had a BD in May also, just around the corner to my 70s in years. Gray matter about 18. You got hit pretty hard with the health issues, but seem like a young 75 so hoping "getting better" moves along at a good pace.
Forever optimist here so predicting a SB sooner than later.
Always enjoy your Raiders posts, and when you occasionally post about music and concerts you have been to I am amazed. Who else had seen Moby Grape live not to mention all the others! Recently you mentioned Paul Butterfeild. I hadn't listenedd to him in some time so promptly did some enjoyably Blues Band music time.

Thanks Owsley. Next summer will be the 60th anniversary of taking 1/8 of a purple Owsley wedge AKA Purple Haze.
The very best bands I have ever seen live not in order:
The Who
Lyle Lovett and His Large Band
Moby Grape
The Electric Flag
Buddy Guy
Jimi Hendrix
Richard Thompson
Weather Report
