hard fact: countries that hold our debt are slaves to the system cause their own economies are getting destroyed via the iran issue...those countries must also stay in petro dollars to purchase our oil or else the economies will run out of energy, what trump did by taking venezuela and iran (sanctioned oil) out of the black market (discounted crude) was strangle china, asia, india, cuba ect ect from getting cheap oil and then taking it back to refine and getting cheap energy or refining it and reselling it back for large profits to states like california ...Rabidraider wrote: Sun May 17, 2026 3:51 pm If the price keeps going up, countries that hold onto our debt (treasuries) will start to cash out, which could destroy the bond market and the US and World economies would follow.
Iran knows this and with 92 million people spread out over a huge area they could hold out knowing what will happen.
I've moved to a 70% cash position and looking to exit the rest at the appropriate time.
Scary times ahead I fear.
ps the argument about our countries debt is also very wrong...we have a 39 trillion dollar debt but over 60% of that is owned by our gubbermints (fed, state, local) whom buys most of the debt , if teh u.s wanted to we could just print 39 trillion and buy all of the debt up but because the world stock market need bonds to function teh u.s leaves things as is "teh debt bubble is myth" we own the printing presses

Insane here in greater Sacramento county area $5.49 Costco, $5.79 Safeway, Shell $6.19. But it varies a lot depending where in this area you are. So $5.49 to $6.79 north of the American river. Don't go south anymore have no idea down there.
So glad our roads though are so pristine because of the state sales tax on gas being put toward making California roads awesome!

To be fair the Iran war spiked the prices, but the commodity guys take their time bringing it down.
I expect after the war is finally over it will drop in less than a year to $3-3.50.
I sold all my oil stocks about 6 weeks ago. I wont go back in for a long time.

Do you honestly believe the prices would not have gone through the roof if we didn't attack Iran?
Not trying to start a political argument just curious.
