LB Nakobe Dean signs with Las Vegas Raiders

2025 PFF Grade: 62.2
2025 PFF WAR: 0.05
Contract: 3 years, $36 million
PFF Projected Contract: 3 years, $41 million
PFF Deal Grade: Good

Dean struggled coming off an injury in 2025, but his 2024 performance is right in line with a deal of this value. While he is just solid in coverage, with 62.4 and 62.6 PFF coverage grades in each of the past two seasons, he is at his best as a run defender, earning an 82.5 PFF run defense grade in 2024. He's also a useful blitzer, racking up 26 pressures from 101 pass-rushing snaps over the past two seasons.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

So we've covered Maxx's run defense. Nice.

Yep. Stopping the run should not be a problem in this defense. Still gotta get some guys that can cover tho.

LB Nakobe Dean heads to Las Vegas

Top 150 ranking: 87
Reported deal: 3 years, $36 million
Grade: B

Although a bit undersized at 5-11, 231 pounds, Dean has a knack for getting after the quarterback. Last season, he recorded a career-high four sacks to go with 55 tackles in 10 games (eight starts). Dean isn’t viewed as a run stopper, but in 2024, he did rack up 128 tackles and three sacks. In Las Vegas, he reunites with linebackers coach Ronnell Williams, formerly an assistant in Philadelphia. — Jones

...I like that last part, as we knew the guy and went after him for a reason with what we want to do...

These contracts indicate the Raiders have more cap left this off-season than you'd think. A good bit of the money is placed into next year. Smart move with the Wilkins/Geno cap hits falling off
