The first person that should be considering who would be a good DC (or OC) is the NEW HEAD COACH. The possibility of being a coordinator shouldn't even be brought up in the HC interviews other than "so head coach candidate, if you get the job what coordinators do you like?"

I would consider Kingsbury again, I liked him when we missed out on him. Whitt is garbage thoughRabidraider wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 12:50 pm Kingsbury and Whitt out as Commanders coordinators, Kingsbury looking for HC job.

Whitt was fired, Kingsbury was mutual agreement so he could cash in on a HC job. He did great with rookie Daniels.Attyla wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 1:07 pm I would consider Kingsbury again, I liked him when we missed out on him. Whitt is garbage though

All day. I'd take him over the other slop that's being mentioned.Attyla wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 1:07 pm I would consider Kingsbury again, I liked him when we missed out on him. Whitt is garbage though

Looks like we have requested the interview with Kubiak.
He appears to be doing great things in Seattle but does not appear to be as hot of a candidate as Ben Johnson was last year.

As I said in another post I don’t for 5 seconds believe that Flores is at the top of Spytek’s list, which is why I want Spytek alone making the decision. If it’s a DC that ain’t Flores I’m ok with that tooMarzan wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 12:45 pm Right now a lot of it is agents and journalists just throwing a lot of names out there to generate clicks and interest in their clients. Or repaying favours.
With the way Spytek talked yesterday about how the first pick and the coach steer the ship, I doubt that he's thinking of a defensive head coach. That would only make sense with a veteran QB.

Pat Kirwan was grousing on Sirius yesterday about the unfair situatuion that coaching candidates that are still in the playoffs have when compared to those that are not. They can't sign until their team loses out, meanwhile other guys can sign and can be actively recruiting their staffs. He commented how it's hard to get good coordinator candidates to sign on when they can't be sure that the coach they want to work with will even sign with the same team, even when it looks like it will happen. He thinks they should be able to sign right away and still complete their duties with their current club. Hard to argue with him.

Giants, Cardinals, and Raiders have all requested an interview with Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak for their head-coaching vacancies.
These are in addition to a Falcons interview we heard about yesterday, making Kubiak one of the hottest head-coaching candidates of the offseason. Seattle’s 10th-ranked DVOA offense with Sam Darnold, as well as Kubiak’s ability to scheme so much of his offense around star wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba, have apparently drawn plenty of attention. Kubiak, on bye, is also available to interview right away, which doesn’t hurt.
Go get him Tom. My #1 pick for HC.

He's the closest thing to it this year though. That offense looks perfectly balanced and ready for Mendoza. Perfect fit.Be_Easy_25 wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 1:54 pm Looks like we have requested the interview with Kubiak.
