I know this is hard to admit for some but the Ravens did nothing wrong legally. Morally? Sure. But who gives a f[raiders_icon]ck. As I've said countless times, this is a business. Feelings don't matter. Time to move on.Attyla wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 2:09 pm Oh I agree, but the physical is the one thing that can break any deal. And they cannot do the physical before they do the deal. It is just one of those things. If we were talking a player who would cost you 50K, ok no problem. But the players are 30M or more with some of these deals. Sucks that we got bit, sucks they could do what they do, but again, I am at a loss to figure out how you can legislate a rule that would have avoided this. Specialist doctor with a great reputation and his opinion would be evaluated by the team to make or break the deal.
shady yes, followed the rules yes, Maxx is not a Raven as a result. He is going to make a player cry next season with his angerBoKnows81 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 2:17 pm I know this is hard to admit for some but the Ravens did nothing wrong legally. Morally? Sure. How do we know what the doctor actually reported. He may have reported the knee was as expected and the Ravens made the call that he failed.Attyla wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 12:55 pm ... And it was the Cowboy's team doctor who did the evaluation. And he is a world renowned knee specialist. Hard to question his medical opinion. Specialists with his reputation are normally well respected.
Thats all we can hope for. Maxx going bonkers next year.Attyla wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 2:42 pm shady yes, followed the rules yes, Maxx is not a Raven as a result. He is going to make a player cry next season with his anger
trades can be done before the tampering period which is what happened this time and that was the way it was before the tampering period. You just cannot make it a done deal until the new year.vtraider wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 2:14 pm Only thing I could see them doing is getting rid of the "legal tampering" period. Basically go back to where it was in the mid 90s. Free agency opens the first day of the new league year with no tampering or deals done before then
It's not fair!BoKnows81 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 2:17 pm I know this is hard to admit for some but the Ravens did nothing wrong legally. Morally? Sure. But who gives a f[raiders_icon]ck. As I've said countless times, this is a business. Feelings don't matter. Time to move on.
Damn, it’s been 30 years?
Your darn tooten.
True. That's the only thing I could think of though as in the most the NFL could/would do. Maybe change it to where trades can't be done until the new year starts as well. But I don't think they will do anythingAttyla wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 2:43 pm trades can be done before the tampering period which is what happened this time and that was the way it was before the tampering period. The wording? That I don't know. But we do know the knee is not healed right now. It might be getting close but no way a soft tissue injury. The reports and scan pictures would have been supplied to the Ravens and yes, they make the call. There is a large level of speculation that they used the report to invalidate the trade but there would have to be wording in there of the concerns to do so. It does not have to say he will not make it to the end of the deal, just that there is risk of that. And the CBA allows the league to review the reports and pictures so they can review it as well. We all just need to remember, these are doctor opinions. Medicine, especially knees and shoulders and such are tricky to evaluate 100% which is why I suspect they brought in this particular surgeon.Raider_Dave wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 2:42 pm How do we know what the doctor actually reported. Do these physical reports from the doctor actually get supplied the league? Can the NFL question the Doctor to see what he actually reported to the Ravens? Doesn't seem complicated.
No, you are right and I agree with everyone that feels as though the Raven's simply exercised their rights. It's a bit of sour grapes on my part because I thought Spytek swung one hell of a deal.Rabidraider wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 3:25 pm Should of stated:
We thought Maxx at his salary and abilities was worth 2 first round picks, but
When Hendricksons price dropped about 25%, it was a smarter move to sign him and keep the two 1st rounders,
especially since we lost our all pro center who now needs to be replaced.
These deals are all pending signatures and we have ever right to change our mind.
It was a great deal and it was a scumbag move by the Ravens and they should of thought out the Hendrickson numbers before screwing the Raiders.Toast wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 3:32 pm No, you are right and I agree with everyone that feels as though the Raven's simply exercised their rights. Yeah, f[raiders_icon]ck the Ravens.Rabidraider wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 3:42 pm It was a great deal and it was a scumbag move by the Ravens and they should of thought out the Hendrickson numbers before screwing the Raiders.
They should of owned up on their change of mind, instead of pushing the BS knee narrative.
When you are honest, its stated and done, when you lie it festers like a boil on a hooker ass....
Bad karma coming the Ravens way....
