People think Russell Wilson is the answer here are his teams turnover totals and wins/points allowed

2021. 17 and 6 wins. 336 pooints
2020. 22 and 12 wins. 371
2019 32 and 11 wins. 398
2018 26 and 10 wins. 347
2017 25 and 9 wins. 332
2016 19 and 10 wins 292
2015 23 and 10 wins 277 points
2014 24 and 12 wins 254 points
2013 39 and 13 wins 231 point
2012 31 and 11 wins 245 points

Do you see what it takes to win. Russell made the playoffs every single year except this year. Create turnovers. Seattles defense has been bad the past two years but they created turnovers in 2019 and 2020. 54 turnovers on a defense that allowed a lot of points. It equaled wins. The defense is allowing less points and not creating turnovers, 6 wins.
You can do this with every QB, and the results will look about the same with playoff teams and non playoff teams.
Cool. So ditch Carr. Build a better defense and we get wins and playoffs consistently. I’m down. Since the defense is how you win we don’t need to pay Carrbage big money

Since the defense is how you win we don’t need to pay Carrbage big money
We've had numerous drafts trying to improve the defense. It hasn't worked in 20 years. Nobody has an answer how a defense can be this bad for this long. I have no problem moving on from Carr. To move on from him without an improved roster, whoever takes his place isn't going to turn things around or lead this team to more wins. Drafting a young QB will be a wasted draft pick, that should be used to improve the defense.

Eventually when the roster improves, you draft the QB and have a cheap QB for the next 4 or 5 years.
How many games did Russell miss this year? Might have something to do with that win total
5-8 in games he started. He still has some weapons on offense. It's tough to win with a bad defense that doesn't create turnovers.
Wilsons loses.
Week 2 they lose 33-30 to the titans. Create 0 turnovers
week 3 they lose 30-17 to the vikings create 0 turnovers
week 5 they lose 26-17 to the rams create 1 turnover
week 10 they lose 17-0 to packers 1 turnover
week 11 they lose 23-13 to Arizona 0 turnovers
week 12 they lose 17-15 to redskins 1 turnover
week 15 they lose 20-10 to rams 1 turnover
week 16they lose 25-24 to bears 0 turnovers
4 turnovers in 8 losses. another turnover in three of those games they are 8-5 instead they are 5-8.
I agree he's getting resigned...As far as making peace with it?No FN way......The day he gets resigned is the first time ever I have little interest in watching Raider games every Sunday...Carr is the ultimate kill joy for me and the epitome of anti Raider...His mentality on the field is polar opposite of what Al Davis and the Raiders stood for...IE he's soft as downey and "will to win" isn't in his DNA imo.

Having this PUSS as the face of the franchise is a f[raiders_icon]cking disgrace :paperbag:
I personally don’t want him resigned either but I’m just pointing out what is likely to happen.

My guess? We’re going to get a coach who believes that he can build a team around Derek and we’re going to be having this same discussion five years from now.

Maybe he gets it but it’s doubtful that he’s going to in year 8 to year 9. But hey he’s won three games in a row while playing sub par! Drink the Kool Aide! /s

I am not a fan boy or hater of Carr. For me, it is a wait and see approach. The guy says he wants to be a lifer. If he puts his money where his mouth is and signs a team friendly contract (QB contracts are ridiculous), I am fine with him coming back. We would be in good cap shape and hopefully we spend money prudently to fill holes. Between that and the draft, I think we are good enough to contend with DC (we are actually already doing it).
More possessions equals more points. When you don't create turnover you are getting less possessions. Less possessions equals less points.
We also have more passing yards because we can't run the ball.
What stat are the receivers 4th in the league. In drops? Zay Jones and Bryan Edwards would start for which playoff teams?

The defense isn't giving the offense short fields. It has to drive the length of the field to score. Creating more useless unproductive yards. Does that answer your question. How many times do you recall the raider getting a turnover deep and having a short field. Not many. The first drive of the Bengal game. maybe we had one earlier in the season. I watch a lot of football, I see teams getting possessions all the times in opponents territory. Fumbled punts or kickoffs. We don't seem to get them. Winning teams do. We haven't for a very long time. I think Cole created the only fumble on a punt this year. I could be wrong on that.
the bolded would make sense if it were true, but the Raiders rank 14th in average offensive possessions per game. The Packers rank 15th.

As for your comments about the running game, we have attempted one of the fewest attempts to run the ball in the league, so your comments earlier about us running on first and second down inside the red zone does not hold up. We are passing far more in the red zone than even the league average.

Hate to break it to you, but once we get into the red zone the passing game stalls and fails. You can blame it on the pieces but the numbers do not hold up with your created stats.
Defenses tighten up in the red zone and the field is smaller. It's more difficult to run. Safties play closer to the line of scrimmage and are not concerned about getting beaten deep.
You're describing a reality every QB deals with, and many find more success than Carr.
Receivers need to beat their man, if they don't that when sacks occur.
Turnovers happen. Some are bad reads, some are defenses making great plays. Some are receivers not being where they should be or not playing defense when an interception is going to happen, Good receivers make it easier on QB's. They make difficult catches that average recievers don't make. They get the first down when other receivers would't. They break a 50 yard slant when average receivers take it for 7 yards on a 3rd an 9.
Good QB's make it easier on WR's. I think you're blowing out of proportion the talent level of our skill positions. Hunter Renfrow is a good receiver. Waller too though we've been without him. Desean Jackson has been running wide open but Carr can't seem to hit him. or even look his way. We can be better but we can also be much worse. We have been much worse, and I've given Carr a pass because of it. But not this year. The depth of this team is why we're in playoff contention where last year with the same QB we weren't.

But I think you're reaching hard finding excuses for the aspects of Carr's game that are lacking . He is great moving the ball between the 20's. Great in the 2 minute drill. Other QB's get hit and don't drop the ball as often. He stalls in the end zone. There's some worse QB's, and some better ones. This moment now, playing meaningful games in January, it is on Carr to elevate everyone in the building to the playoffs. That is what a franchise Quarterback does.

We don't get first downs and have one of the league lowest RPA average in the league.
Show me the red zone stats.

The reason for the higher possessions then the Packers is we give up a hell of a lot more points.
The packers have given up 334 points and the Raiders 407. 73 points more that's a lot more kickoffs and about about 5 points per game. More turnovers equals less points and more possessions. And once again you love comparing the Raiders to the Packers. The Packers play the Lions and Bears twice a year. Every year. You say Carr sucks yet you want to compare him to a first ballot hall of famer every time.
The Raider will not be drafting a first ballot hall of famer in your lifetime, they will not be signing a free agent first ballot hall of famer in your lifetime either. Carr will be the closest thing to a first ballot hall of famer that Raider fans will ever see under center for the Raiders. And Carr is not nor will he ever be a first ballot hall of famer.
When Carr eventually leaves, which he will get used to the Raiders circe 2003-2013 the pre Carr years. Because that's what's going to happen again once Carr leaves.
As hard as it is to believe the Raiders franchise is not a desired destination. Losing, bad front office, bad scouting, constant turnover of coaches. Players want to win, they can get paid everywhere. The will only come to the Raiders as a last chance at getting paid. Exactly what has happened since free agency started in the 90's. Outside of a couple seasons Gruden was the head coach. As much as you hate Carr he is a respectable QB around the league. Get used to having Baker Mayfield or Jared Goff under center when players like them wash out with the original franchise. They will come to the Raiders and play exactly like the did for those franchises. The will have name recognition and fan will think the Raiders is the ideal spot to make a new name for themselves. Because we are the Raiders. What fans fail to realize that what they thin the Raiders are and what they actually are are two entirely different things. The league and fans outside of the arider fan base view the Raiders as the worst franchise in football because of the things I mentioned earlier. Where fans view them as super bowl contenders and a playoff team ever year that is only one player away from winning it all. People outside the organization feel the Raiders are about 20-25 players away from a super bowl. Which is more accurate then one player away fans think we are each and every year.

That is what a franchise Quarterback does.
Like it or not we are in playoff contention. We lost two of our three top playmakers for most of the season. Carr has elevated players. Is Hunter renfrow one of the top slot guys in the league. His number are better as a pro than they were in college with the great Trevor Lawrence and Desean Watson throwing him
the ball. They didn't turn him into a 1st round draft pick. What was Darren Waller before he came to the Raiders. A practice squad player. Now he's one of the top TE's in the league. Yes the team has better depth than any year the Raiders had with Carr. That's why this is the best team he's been on. This team has had a lot of adversity for a young inexperienced team. They powered through it and are ion ht4 brink of the playoffs, no thanks to fair-weather friends like yourself who wish they lose every game only to say. I told you so.

The Carr haters sound like broken records. We can move the ball outside the twenty. Carr fumbles. Rich Gannon fumbled too 39 times in the 4 years. That was with one of the better lines in the NFL. Carr fumbles 42 times the past 4 years. And that with Brandon Parker playing two full season at RT. About the same and nobody seem to call Gannon a pussy for fumbling the ball. They only remember what thy want to remember. Not the facts.

you keep moving the goalposts, first we have fewer offensive plays because we do not get turnovers and now we have more than the packers because of the defense

let me know when you settle on a reason and get back to me.
