now we need to redo his contract and give him more guaranteed money and lower his base salary down big...team still has holes to fill before the draft and after the drafttatalalicious wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 7:47 am Things have a way of working out sometimes. Before the trade Crosby very deliberately wouldn't say that but now it seems like him and the Raiders are in alignment.
We may or may not be done with this saga.mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 7:56 am now we need to redo his contract and give him more guaranteed money and lower his base salary down big...team still has holes to fill before the draft and after the draft
$30 million doesn't mean he needs to play every snap. Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons get paid way more money and are more in the 75-80% range.mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 7:54 am 30 million means he is gonna retain his usual role, kwitty and koonce can be rotated run/pass situations
We really didn't do much for the offense. While Center is a massive addition, Nailor may be good, mediocre or not very efficient, who knows. And that's all we did. (Assuming of course we also get Mendoza which is a huge get).mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 7:51 am raiders r in a good position despite the madmax stuff going on, we added a lot of talent on both sides of the field but really improved our defense a lot especially with max manning his role as a pass rusher...i think koonce was a goner until the max trade happened, then we resigned him...now if we could sign a big run stuffing nt our front 7 is gonna be a force
We're gonna draft another WR and a complimentary RB is my thinking. Draft an early RT and we're good.BotesBoats wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:41 am We really didn't do much for the offense. But when it comes to how much supporting cast have we given Mendoza, really Linderbaum is the only significant thing. But considering how much resources we've thrown at the defense due the the surprise of retaining Maxx. I fully expect our draft to be heavily invested in the offensive side of the ball. Barring a NT or S pick in the mid rounds.
I fully think we were about to spend our remaining free agency money on offense and this threw a wrench in it.
Maxx had damn near 200 more snaps played than Myles and that's with him sitting the last two games, and didn't even come close to sniffing the same level of production. He 100% needs to reduce his snap count.chucker wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:39 am $30 million doesn't mean he needs to play every snap. We got our center, committed to JPJ at guard, Miller is healthy, and we have no idea what the other linemen look like because of the abomination of the last coaching staff. They have Jeanty, Bowers, Bech, Mayer, and we will def get a WR in the draft. And Mendoza. It's obvious that they are going to go heavy on O in the draft.BotesBoats wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:41 am We really didn't do much for the offense. The one thing that could be done is have trades processed immediately and not wait for the new league year. Teams could go through the "legal tampering" making deals. etc. with full knowledge of what their roster has.Attyla wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 6:58 am I think they had buyers remorse but when Hendrickson did not move on day one, they went to work on his agent and made the deal while waiting for the Maxx physical. Once the physical came back with a flag or two, they were able to cut bait. I do not think they went into the Maxx deal with the intention of screwing us. I think they realized they could get a similar guy for less and keep their picks. Dirty? Sure. Within the CBA? Yes. Can the next CBA address this? I for the life of me do not know how you could keep this from happening again. We agreed to a deal with a player and backed out once the physical was done. Was ours legit? Well, same player ended up signing with another team. They are medical opinions. And opinions can vary.
We don't need to restructure maxx's contract for more cap space unless we have something specific that we really want to spend the money on. And we don't need to add any guarantees right now. As of tomorrow, both 2026 and 2027 are fully guaranteed.mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 7:56 am now we need to redo his contract and give him more guaranteed money and lower his base salary down big...team still has holes to fill before the draft and after the draft

It still requires the physical. Players contracts end at the end of the league year so there is a conflict of interest if a player goes for a physical with a new team while under contract with an old team.RickRyb wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:53 am The one thing that could be done is have trades processed immediately and not wait for the new league year.
