The Donald Penn talk reminds me of some Raider fans online talking shit on Kolton Miller or generally writing him off nonschalantly. Fuckin crazy talk. Top 10 left tackle and he's 31 lol, yeah f[raiders_icon]ck that guy I guess. Mouth breathers about too often

I've said my piece about Miller. I know he's a top player. I also know he has injury problems... as of late. I like the guy. I have and do advocate for drafting/signing.... possibly trading for his eventual replacement. I don't see him playing into his mid/later 30's..... at least not at a high level. His replacement needs to be on the team being groomed for the day. If that is being a mouth breather..... I am.

We absolutely need to get a up and comer for Miller's eventual departure.Dr Death wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 5:52 am I've said my piece about Miller. I know he's a top player. Penn was good for a few years and he was part of the best line in the league (albeit for a short time) and the best we had since the old days.

That's actually a good sign, especially considering he didn't play preseason at all. Stash him and let him develop some more. This shows me they still somewhat believe in his potential.ELCAraiderfan wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 4:25 pm some extra moves I haven't seen here yet:
Signed LB Segun Olubi; Placed WR Dont'e Thornton Jr. on the Reserve/Injured list; Signed WR Cody White to the practice squad;

Charles Grant has shown in little flashes that he could be somethingAttyla wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 6:37 am We absolutely need to get a up and comer for Miller's eventual departure.
We have to hope that Dennison reputation is exactly what we here it is so can take that big lump of clay & mold him into our future
It feels like we got a steal with Grant i. That he has every measurable your looking for in a LT & all that is needed is for his technique to be refined, usually you get a guy who to light, shorter arms, average footwork etc the thing you cant’t fix
Pegues is another one that intrigues me he has all the measurable but really need to learn how to anchor against double teams which would take him to a whole other level as an interior defender
Fingers crossed we have the coaching staff to unlock these traits

I feel resserecting a career comes from attitude. A new start with a team that has hope. Wearing the silver and black. Having coaches and management you can trust.
All in all it starts with believing its a new chapter while leaving the old one behind.
Well its a nice story anyway and who knows.

I'm sure the Rams were thrilled that the Bengals went that route with Andrew Whitworth. He was 35 at the time. Kolton will be 31 in October. He could very likely play at a high level to 35-36. If that developmental tackle was on roster right now he could go through a whole rookie contract while Kolton still plays well. Grant is here for insurance and in a few years, that's a priority (LT future). Right now, no IMODr Death wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 5:52 am I've said my piece about Miller. I know he's a top player. RT and at least one guard are bigger priorities at this point in time. I am not ready to put Miller in the grave.Goodtimes333 wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 12:55 pm I'm sure the Rams were thrilled that the Bengals went that route with Andrew Whitworth. He was 35 at the time. Agreed. Of all the questions on the Raiders team right now Kolton Miller is bottom of the list with center, TE & RB. At his age it's just nonsense to think he's approaching over with. Dude is a proven LT in his prime for f[raiders_icon]ck sakes. Receiver, Dtackle, RT, #2 corner is sooo much more a priority. Dtackle and Receiver is multiple also. Not just a need for oneRI RAIDER wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 1:04 pm RT and at least one guard are bigger priorities at this point in time. I am not ready to put Miller in the grave.

When Miller is done, just go get a top free agent LT to replace him in a few years. Concentrate on what everyone else has mentioned. DT, WR, And RT.

They don't make it to FA unless teams f[raiders_icon]ck up and let them go. Aka, Donald Penn/Andrew Whitworth scenariosRabidraider wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:36 pm When Miller is done, just go get a top free agent LT to replace him in a few years. Could be one of the reasons why they were attempting to deal Maxx as well. They lose one of the best DE's in the league but for two 1st they could snag a LT or trade up and down the board and acquire a bunch of picks and find someone that fell to them along with other positions.Goodtimes333 wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 8:46 pm They don't make it to FA unless teams f[raiders_icon]ck up and let them go. I had forgotten. Penn deserves the HOF.Attyla wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2026 12:33 pm I think Penn was getting to that age where there were questions of duration but was happy to have him. He gets a ton of shit from some fans for the Carr injury but he had a great rebound year that year.
