What’s Cookin' on Gameday 2025
In the vein of what's cooking with Scotman and Attyla.
As in years past, the 2025 What’s Cookin for Gameday thread. Post each week what you’re having on Gameday, drinks, appetizers etc,
Last year’s turned up some good stuff, so keep these in mind:
* Each week post what you are having for food, aka main dish.
* Appetizers?
* Desert?
* Each week what are you drinking?
* Include what you're having if you're tailgating.
* If you are ordering, what are you ordering?
* Brunch, you name it.

Dont cheer too hard. A Browns win stops us from securing the tiebreaker over the Giants. Cheer just hard enough for a Cle-Pit tie. A Browns tie pushes our record ahead of them if we wind up winning a 3rd game and only increases our opponents cumulative win total by 1/2 win, instead of a full win. That small difference barely leaves open the door for us to get the tiebreaker over the Giants.WolfRaider wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 11:00 am Cheering the Browns on harddddd

My leftover ham is going into spaghetti Carbonera (ham, bacon, green onions, Alfredo sauce is my recipe, they vary) Peas are good too in this.
PS At the risk of being told "butt out", why don't you guys make up or take it DM, this is a food thread, not a food fight

Can't go wrong there. I invested a Stir Crazy pop corn maker. Best thing since canned beer.

LoL, no I got it. I never pass on an excuse for popcorn though. I imagine lots of popcorn will be needed today considering the drama.

Please dont take this as a personal "shot", but carbonara doesnt have any cream in it like Alfredo does. When you make carbonara, you start with guanciale and saute that. The rendered liquid fat, a small amout of the hot water that you cooked the spaghett in and several raw egg yokes are combined. That forms a creamy emulsification to which you add the grated parmesan. The cracked black pepper then is the final touch giving it the black specks (aka the carbon in carbonara). Its sometimes difficult to find guanciale and its also very salty. You can sub out that for pancetta or some even use bacon. But ham is not going to have any significant amout of remaining fat to render.raider_kin wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 12:44 pm My leftover ham is going into spaghetti Carbonera (ham, bacon, green onions, Alfredo sauce is my recipe, they vary) Peas are good too in this.

You are not wrong. There are a ton of ways to do Carbonara. It has definitely changed from the traditional (product availability, health, taste, etc.). I am more of a traditionalist in my cooking which sometimes lends itself to being expensive and difficult to do.raider_kin wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 6:04 pm Thanks, no offense taken, I do have a different recipe for Carbonara.

Im not trying to be racist or anything, but if youre going to combine cream, butter and parmesan, its Alfredo. But I suppose if it identifies as carbonara then you have to support that pasta's right to choose. I consulted Al Gamini about this:
