No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.
Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

Wow, two first, Kenny Clark and they have to pay him a boatload of money which will eat up an enormous amount of team cap space. And lol at Joran Love saying he requited him a little bit.

glad it was not us
Huh? How do you figure? It was the other way around. Those will be late 1sts and Kenny Clark is just ok, is about to be 30 years old and was a salary dump. Parsons and Gary will wreak havoc. Not to mention the Packers had the money to pay him.
Jerry Jones doesn't fleece or rape anyone in trades. This is a young, game changing, top 3 DE in the league. In my opinion, he's worth more than what the Packers gave up.

If true good. That’s a lot to give up.

Packers getting Parsons reminds me of when the Raiders got Ted Hendricks. The Mad Stork transformed the Raiders defense (although we had a few other studs on that defense, esp. in the def. backfield.)

That IS a lot to give up. And if the Raiders wanted him at any cost, they would have had to give up more to over bid that offer.

Who is this cat?
Does he have any credibility whatsoever?
Outbid is a general term. By how much exactly?

Yeah it's a tough one for sure.
Dallas' picks are likely to be at the bottom of the 1st. On the con side If you don't win the SB then all it does is make your team look prettier in the standings but now your first pick in the draft is at the bottom of the 2nd round for the next 2 years. Clark while not spectacular was pretty reliable. Also not to be missed is how much percentage wise you have sunk into one player cap wise. And if Parsons gets injured now you are sunk and LeFluer might as well just start "pack"ing his bags.

Agreed but he's young enough that they can continue to build around him. People seem to forget that the Packers are historically one of the best late round drafting teams in the NFL. The injury thing we can say about anyone in the league after any big time trade.
I think his age is a key factor here that makes it worth it. Packers got better, got younger and are a legitimate super bowl contender now.

Here's a link to an article at NFL:
Excerpts from much longer article that includes the terms of the deal:
Among the winners
Parsons: Sick of the Cowboys' negotiating tactics, Parsons pushed his way out of Dallas and into a record-setting payday. The edge rusher played nice for most of the offseason, showing up to workouts and initially saying all the right things. His trade request was met mostly with apathy. He showed his pull, and he got the massive contract. Win, win. The versatile defender is worth every penny, generating 52.5 sacks over four years and earning a Pro Bowl bid in every season. Had he not dealt with an injury that shortened his season to 13 games last year, he very well could have won his first DPOY. After returning from a high ankle sprain in November, Parsons was the most dominant defensive performer in the game. With the contract dispute in the rearview, he can focus on lifting the Packers' defense to new heights. Of course, assuming that “back tightness” is all cleared up.
Jerry Jones the Gambler: It's almost as if Jones watched his own Netflix documentary and decided he was due for another big gamble. The Cowboys owner is betting big that he can relive the success of the Herschel Walker trade. Of course, that famous swap took more than a year to pay any dividends. Jones has admitted that he likes the Cowboys to be at the center of the 365-day drama that is the NFL. He got that -- and then some -- with the Parsons situation. Jones' dice role here is that, in the long run, the Cowboys will be healthier without another massive contract on the books. It'll take a few years to see if that gamble pays off.
Among the losers
Cowboys fans: It's been 30 years since their last Lombardi Trophy run. That streak feels likely to hit 31. Thursday's news is a turd-in-the-punchbowl moment for Cowboys fans who have been sipping sour Kool-Aid for years. Dallas fanatics have endured a glut of annoying contract standoffs that could have been avoided but ultimately bore fruit. The Parsons negotiations seemed to be playing out similarly until the gut-punch trade. Even the most optimistic Cowboys fans will have a hard time convincing themselves that they can compete in 2025 sans their defensive superstar. Clark addresses a longtime need at defensive tackle, but draft picks can't help right now. Then those fanatical supporters have to hope the organization hits on those picks, which are likely to be near the end of the round. Can't have another Taco Charlton misstep.
Jerry Jones the GM: The entire unraveling of the contract situation doesn't leave the general manager in a good light. The issues Parsons relayed about his agent being iced out of talks isn't a good look for the man in charge of personnel. Then there is the issue that the GM's club is undoubtedly worse heading into a season. The Cowboys' entire defense revolved around Parsons' ability to pester the quarterback. Now they're left with a massive hole. Donovan Ezeiruaku flashed at camp, but does anyone really believe the second-round pick can fill those shoes? GMs constantly tell us that their job is to give the coaches the best 53 they can each year. It's hard to say the Cowboys have done that after trading Parsons.

It’s a Win Win. Dallas is in CAP hell, and they really couldn’t sign him without making their CAP problem significantly worse. Dallas also drafts extremely well Kenny Clark is a stud at the tail end of his career. But he is an elite run stuffer, which addresses a big need. GB gets Parsons, no need to elaborate

Huge swing for the Packers. Jordan Love is trending up but is still unproven. If Love takes the next step this could get them over the hump. If he doesn't someone's getting fired.

I doubt the Raiders were ever in it. No team without a long term QB solution settled should ever trade multiple firsts for anything besides a young QB.
We just need to keep building and staying the course until Brady/Spytek can find that player. Then you can swing for the fences on a deal like GB just did.

100% this. If I’m a packer fan I’m thrilled.
That being said, I could see them regressing (potentially missing the playoffs) just based on schedule. They beat up on a lot of bad and injured teams last year. but giving up 1sts your big concern is going bottom 10 - I don’t think that’s a concern for them.
Obviously the goal is playoffs for them but I don’t see them giving up a PREMIUM pick.
