This situation is a mess: "Caster Semenya, who reportedly has internal testes but no womb or ovaries due to an abnormality, has been dominating middle-distance running since a ruling which previously forced her to take drugs to cut her testosterone was overturned.

Semenya was born this way, so is not cheating, but if I was running against her, I would feel odd. I just noticed her name includes the word "semen." Interesting.

Oh, it has happened before. Here is the bizarre case of Stanisława Walasiewicz AKA Stella Walsh. You have to read this to believe it:

Walsh was killed during an armed robbery in Cleveland, on 4 December 1980. An autopsy showed that she had no uterus, an abnormal urethra, and a non-functioning, underdeveloped penis, although some sources suggest she also displayed female characteristics.[17][18][19] Chromosome analysis revealed that most of her cells contained normal X and Y chromosomes but some were X0 (containing only one X chromosome), resulting in XY gonadal dysgenesis.[3]

"The controversy of her biological sex remains unresolved, and the situation is further complicated by the fact that many earlier documents, including her birth record, state that she was female; the Cuyahoga County coroner, Samuel Gerber, stated that Walasiewicz was "socially, culturally and legally" a woman. There has also been controversy over whether her records and achievements should be erased.Walsh was killed during an armed robbery in Cleveland, on 4 December 1980. Hah, this is funny. When I was running track in high school, at a triangular meet (three schools) at which I set the half-mile (880 yards) sophomore record for my school, a pole vaulter came down awkwardly and got a compound fracture of the lower leg. Having been in Boy Scouts and trained in first aid, I had read about compound fractures, so I went over to see the poor fella. Yes, the bone was sticking out of his leg. Anyway, I got kicked off the track team in my senior year during the time between cross country season and before the track season started. The coach said I had become a "bad influence" on some of my fellow runners. This was the winter of 1968-69 and I was a total pothead. He was right, I deserved to be kicked off. This was well after coach told me I would be in the State meet (Calif) by my senior year in the half-mile after my sophomore year performance, as I had a great kick (I also fooled around in the 100, 220, and 440 and 4 X 440 relay). I am convinced both my basketball and track careers were totally derailed by pot smoking and the distractions of the time (Jimi Hendrix, girls, etc). I gathered myself in college and had a minor competitive basketball career, but never ran again against other schools, just intramural meets. And, I certainly never wanted to try the pole vault after seeing that compound fracture.

In my High school in small town Connecticut in the 1980's ... I was one of Only 2 guys who lettered in track as freshmen. I repeated sophomore and Jr years (yes set underclassmen school records in javelin and shotput).
Truly, I was set up for failure, as the entire track team had only ONE coach, and for the safety of the runners and jumpers the weight team (shot/jav/discus) practiced on a field above and hundreds of yards away from the rest, separated by a short hillside of dense trees, We Were on our own. Self taught and self policed. That worked well ... until we got bored. I was a natural shotput and javelin catcher ... never got the knack catching discusses, that shit will brake your hands!

On the last day of practice my Jr year that years SR team member and myself were playing a game we called Brass Balls .... its like "Chicken" but instead of throwing pocket knives at each others feet, we were tossing javelins at 10 paces.
The game was pretty intense ... only to be interrupted by a freshman sprinter who said something stupid then started running.
The team SR started chasing him and making grunting sounds like an African Pygmy Warrior.
Soooo i grabbed a javelin and joined the chase.
The frosh "Chuck" darted down the hillside, so i launched the spear Clear Over his head. it landed 20 yards in front of him.
But he ran at a full sprint down hill and didn't see my throw. We all Yelled "LOOK OUT CHUCK" who turned his head to us ...
In full stride he caught the tail end of the javelin right in the nut sack!

It stopped he cold with both feet off the ground.
In slow motion he rolled off to one side. Dashed off two more strides then collapsed in a fetal position on the ground.
This caught the attention of the girls softball team who were lining up for warm ups.
Chuck pops to his feet, drops his pants to his ankles and grabs his scrotum and checks to see if he was still intact. Just a five inch contusion from his nuts to his thigh. He jogged to the locker-room.
The next day I find out his parents took him to the hospital and made a report to the coach.
Who pulled me out of a meeting where we were to vote for next years captains.
Called me a "liability" and scratched my name off the chalkboard.

For years after that, wherever I saw Chuck I would yell "Hey Chuck, How's it Hanging??"
He would drop trow and show his balls.
