No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.

Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

I understand, but until it is refined to the point where they completely abandon using the 40 time I'm just not convinced it's an end all yet. Again, it may be someday but for now, I believe that there are things that still need to be worked out.

I respect your position, but please respect mine.

The 40 time at the combine is more for entertainment and bragging rights than for actual NFL scouting these days.

Yep, NFL income without having to pay the players.

Interesting you feel that way.
A team could get tape of lets say Bech from college.
I can run it through a program and it can give me all kinds of advanced metrics.
I can judge his speed quickness in various ways.

Sure it will be forever improving, have to make upgrades to sell!

Yup, and from what I understand there's already a slew of newly created software companies jockeying for position and lining up to win contracts...but I suppose that's to be expected.

I'm a rather older fella and a bit stuck in my ways but I'll likely eventually come around to the new stuff.

Nah it's crazy stuff.
It's super cool in one way but also a little too much invasion of being in another.
If it continues, life will be like being born into imprisonment with everything watching, judging and rating.
But back to the 40, the teams know how fast these players are on film and I can't think that game speed doesn't matter more.

Yes, and from what I've read there are already security/privacy concerns. And that may or may not end up being a problem but yeah, I agree, George Orwell was way ahead of his time. I remember reading his book as a teenager and thinking "Nah, that'll never happen"...but it has.

We will always have those who fear we cannot control what we create. We have those that think modernization is the beginning of the demise of mankind. And yet, we have almost 9B people on the planet, famine is at an all time low as a percentage of the population and wealth is more widespread than at any time in our history. The idea that we cannot control things like AI and such flies in the face of reality. Where we fall short is in our understanding of what we are seeing. Discerning between real and fake is at an all time low when it is the internet era being the focus. But is it much different than the War of the Worlds radio broadcast. People tend to believe what they want to rather than learning how to know truth from fiction. We immediately pivot to fiction because the fiction is far more interesting. It is like the nuclear threat. In the 80s we were convinced everyone was going to die in a nuclear winter. and what was the reason? Well, it is an oversimplified answer but a TV movie increased that belief to heights never before reached. Yes, The Day After was a fiction surrounding a nuclear holocaust and the aftermath in a small Kansas town. Almost everyone died in horrible ways. Mass chaos was the result. There were even nuclear bomb drills in some schools. Decades later, that fiction is forgotten. We keep replacing that fiction with new fictions to spur masses levels panic and yet, here we are, thriving more and more. Hell, even global warming has been replaced by climate change and yet we are producing more crops than ever on smaller and smaller plots of land. Oh the horror!!!

Ill be shocked if Cam Scattebo is physically able to get a second nfl contract after his rookie deal. Such a tough player but also a dumbass.

Yeah, he definitely doesn’t seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed &, he plays without any regard for his body. He probably has a bad case of CTE already lol

Slow news day so here's a delightful little filler...

So obviously not my favorite sportscaster. Glad he's gone so I won't have to look at the big RC monogram lapel pin.
