New coach ………. Again
What’s your thoughts? I prefer young offensive minded with a fresh DC. Kubiak, Cooter, Kafka and pair them with someone like Al Harris as the DC.

Just saw that Philip Rivers could be a head coach candidate this cycle. Lol this dude won't go away. I do love his fire and passion but that's about where it stops.
Edit:
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Philip Rivers “could end up as a head coach candidate this cycle.”
Rapoport added, “The current belief is that Rivers gets at least one opportunity to interview, possibly more.” Rivers coached high school football for five years at St. Michael Catholic in Alabama. His football IQ is also off the charts, as evidenced by his sudden return to the game this year. The Giants and Titans are currently the only teams in need of a new head coach, though more teams will be added to the list after Week 18. Rivers might need to find work beyond the high school ranks before teams are ready to hire him as the boss of an NFL team, but a future as a professional football coach would suit him well.

In a lot of environments, I'm old. On this site I'm not so sure.
Sorry, it should have been bated, not baited. You were all on pins and needles waiting for my correction.

Klint Kubiak:
- Wanted him last year as OC
- Has the #1 scoring offense this year
Coaching Tree
-Leslie Frazier
-Mike Zimmer
-Dennis Allen
-Nathaniel Hackett
-Gary Kubiak
-Kyle Shanahan
-Mike Macdonald
Lots of defensive minded coaches he has coached under, so I think he has a good grasp on how a defense needs to be ran. But what I like the most is that Shanahan running scheme that his father also knew well. The Raiders can finally utilize Jeanty correctly and wouldn't have to put all the pressure on a young QB/ hopefully Mendoza.

Let me preface this by saying this is a terrible plan and I would be absolutely miserable if this happened

That would totally ruin the #1 pick acquisition. Brian Flores is absolute garbage and f[raiders_icon]ck Daboll too.Raidernation1979 wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 10:39 am Let me preface this by saying this is a terrible plan and I would be absolutely miserable if this happened

Agreed. This would be one of the worst case scenariosBoKnows81 wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 10:40 am That would totally ruin the #1 pick acquisition. Brian Flores is absolute garbage and fck Daboll too.

This would be a bit of a boom/bust hiring but I wouldn't hate it. Flores knows if he squanders his next opportunity, it will be his last and the guy can flat out coach defense. Daboll isn't sexy but as an OC he's not a terrible hire. Not my first pick for head coach as that would be Saleh but I feel he's going to get poached early by the Titans so then it's kind of muddy waters for experienced coaches available and the lack of big name up and coming coordinators.

Luckily for us it's Florio and he never gets anything right. He's just a shit stirrer.BoKnows81 wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 10:40 am That would totally ruin the #1 pick acquisition. Brian Flores is absolute garbage and fck Daboll too.
Flores can coach, but he'd be a bad choice with a rookie QB and I think that for many reasons him and Mendoza would be a terrible fit. I think Flores can succeed somewhere with a strong veteran QB in place.

I’ve seen this rumor on Twitter before about Flores so unfortunately I don’t bing he’s making crap up.Marzan wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 11:51 am Luckily for us it's Florio and he never gets anything right. He's just a shit stirrer.

No way in hell I’d sign Flores. He’s be a freaking disaster. Can’t remember if it was TJ Moe but he said Flores was one of the worst coaches he’d ever been around.
Flores time in Miami shows what an entitled POS snitch he is. He’s the defensive version of Josh McDaniels.
No way either one of the QB’s are gonna want to be with this a-hole. Brady & Mark better not fudge this up again. Have Spytek hire the HC.

Same thing with Joe Brady. All he does is warm Josh Allens nuts when he comes over to the sideline.Raidernation1979 wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 12:31 pm Daboll is a terrible OC. Josh Allen made him. Dude sucks big balls
