Fire Pete Carroll
I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

I agree about Saleh. He's the one guy on that list I'd be happy with.heavyD wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 1:46 pm Saleh and Minter are two that I'm interested in. Saleh was in a no-win situation in NY and despite that he had the team playing hard with a top 5 defense that turned into one of the worst immediately after he was fired. The man knows defense. Minter doesn't have the experience but I'm sure he would be able to sort out the defense and seems to be highly regarded. Clearly OC would be an important hire but I don't have an issue with a defensive coach as it's worked well in Seattle and NE. There currently doesn't appear to be a lot of great options for coaches from the offensive side of the ball.
Still, we'd need a good OC who can develop a young QB. My guess is that it would have to be a current QB coach getting his first chance to be an NFL OC. I don't know who that might be.

Sometimes you need to give that ugly motherf[raiders_icon]cker a break. Not every post about that bowl cut dipshit has to be insulting. I mean, that f[raiders_icon]cking idiot is someone's son and I am sure his mother loved that asshat so we should probably give that dimwitted cocksucking moron a pass.

I can handle a low win/high loss season as long as we're competing in every game. We've been shut out 31-0 twice this season, and we've been blown out in too many others. One of the things I was hopeful about with Pete is that we'd beat the teams we should and pull off an upset here and there. Nothing like that has happened. This team is listless and disorganized, with nothing to indicate that we're on the road to future success.SuperRaider wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 6:04 am If the raiders have the number one pick and they going to draft a QB with it; it a big selling point; because your starting QB is on a rookie deal in which is not really going to hurt regarding salary cap for least three years….
So Saleh probably would come Vegas on a three year deal if the raiders draft Mendoza; but everyone got to be understand that this is rebuilding plan; where we might end up going 3-14 next year also…

Yesterday should not dictate our moves for tomorrow. At some point we will be competitive regardless of our past 20 plus years of failure.chucker wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 9:42 am We're conditioned to assume that it will take forever to improve this team - because it's taken forever already and we still aren't there. We need to reach higher than that. That doesn't mean we should try to take shortcunts to being competitive by signing aging vets, but we've seen teams go from also ran to competitive in a year. The Texans and Commanders are two recent examples who drafted a QB and instantly became competitive. The Pats already had a QB, but did it this year.
Raise your expectations, despite our grim history. And don't wait to change coaches if the decision has already been made.

My expectation this year wasn’t much. I knew it was going to be a rough start and that’s ok. However what I expected to see especially in the back half of the season, win or lose, was a team that looked well coached and as a fan you can see an identity being born sending us to the offseason with hope and excitement for the following year.Opoponax50 wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 10:20 am I can handle a low win/high loss season as long as we're competing in every game. With 3 games to go, I can safely say this is an utter flop of epic proportions. I did not see this level of fail coming.
I recently read a tweet that noticed no Raiders have been extended on the roster this year which indicates with or without Pete, the bulk of this roster barring rookies and some other very young players, are likely gone next year.
Sometimes it feels like this season was mostly a training camp exposing who is worth keeping and who is worth developing and the new roster construction has yet to begin.
I picked the wrong month to stop drinking

Despite our owner with um certain "limitations." The blueprint seems very straight forward, tried and trued.
Hire a good talent evaluator (I like those chances with Spytek).
Hire an energetic promising young head coach that can work with Spytek, which means let him choose his coach. Aquire the players and take the field. It could take time but there is a nucleus of a few good players and they seem to be high character guys. If we get our QB I think it can happen sooner rather than later.
I would like to believe Mark followed this when he hired McKenzie but it seems that he had been angling for Gruden to come back as soon as he was in control. In fact the only good decision Mark has ever really made was for McKenzie is to fire Hue Jackson.
The problem is, and it's been discussed ad nauseam is will Mark shit can the meddling? I was hoping his Ace's project would distract him but I dunno. Dan the Fan in Washington never did, and he and Davis seem to have studied at the same school of organizational dysfunction.
Perpetual bottom feeders all seem to have one common denominator. I think in one short period of time Snyder was paying Norv Turner, Marty Schottenheimer and Steve Spurrier to coach against him when he brought Joe Gibbs back in 2004.
It's all about the wack job who had a father named Al.

There was one huge red flag with this hire that I just couldn’t get over. No team in the history of the NFL had ever employed a head coach as old as Pete Carroll is. 74 years old is the age when you should be resting at home, finding hobbies, watching the grandkids play, drinking yourself into a stupor while posting bullshit on RaiderForums, I mean RaiderStation, etc.
The fact that Mark Davis signed off on this made me even more confident that this move was going to be beyond awful, and I posted pretty much that when others were drinking the Pete Kool-Aid, so this isn’t some hindsight bullshit.
Then Pete went and traded for 35-year old Geno Smith, a player who’s been awful for most of his career, and gave him a big extension (while Sam Darnold basically fell into our lap and we said nah). I didn’t have a lot of hope for this upcoming season, but I honestly didn’t think it would be on par with the worst season in Raiders history. Gotta give Mark credit for that one, he’s exceeded even my expectations for ineptitude.- These users gave a High Five to the author Corleone for the post (total 8):

Throw on top of all that the hiring of his kid who coaches the O line that lets defenses in faster than water through a tube sock.Corleone wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 4:50 pm I wasn’t.

Im holding judgment on the couch.SuperRaider wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 1:38 pm Anybody else I say three years; but Pete is 74 going on to 75….and the killer is he put his son in charge of offensive line….which is worse in the NFL and his son is still coaching the line

I was good with both Carroll and Geno and have to quietly take my lumps on both. One thing I’m not sure of is how much responsibility the Golden Boy needs to take for each decision. So much of the reporting at the time was about how much influence he was having on football decisions but we don’t hear much about that anymore.Corleone wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 4:50 pm I wasn’t.

Nice. Exhibit A in my “I don’t think about Doofus 24/7 case”.

I didn't have high hopes for the season but thought we would be competitive and entertaining. The team is a laughingstock. I watched part of the Eagles game last night. More than once, to paraphrase when discussing the Eagle's offense, "you can't play the Raiders every week". When we played the Browns, the announcer said the Browns have a bad O line and none of the Raiders O line could start for them.
These announcers play it close to the vest. If they feel comfortable making those comments you know we are a stinking pile of dung. Time to light the dung pile and hope something better can rise from the ashes.

To me that was the biggest red flag of the offseason. What I'd hoped is that Pete had honest confidence in his son because no person with even minimal good judgment would've hired their own kid when there's a relatively high percentage chance they'd have to fire him, and a 100% chance of having to fire a coach that did such a poor job.Viper wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 5:06 pm Throw on top of all that the hiring of his kid who coaches the O line that lets defenses in faster than water through a tube sock.
I love my kids more than anyone in the world, but I wouldn't hire them to work for me because of the rift that would likely happen, even if they did a good job.
