No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.
Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

IMO, no one, including someone's family, should be able to prevent them from clocking out if/when they want to.

HORRIBLE disease for everyone. A friend of mine wants to end his suffering and go out Kevorkian style in VT (do not have to be a resident). Family is fighting him on this.
Tell him to go to Thailand. Going out in style.

It was a crazy story, but the part that stood out was his defense team said she would have been unable to drink the drinks because she would have known they were poisoned by the strong taste. My question was, how does his lawyer know what cocaine tastes like? But that dirtbag got what he deserved, a life sentence. I personally would have gone for the death penalty but that was not an option.

Today, most of us just casually absorb this enormous salary numbers. For us older fans, they are almost incomprehensible. NFL players used to have off-season jobs to keep their families taken care of. Even accounting for inflation, for athletes to make $20, $40, $60 million a year is beyond -- something. I guess the owners and the league are doing so well, they can afford to keep doing this. Actually, I am sure they can. Nevertheless, it still boggles my mind.
I can still remember when Willie Mays got $100,000 a year for the first time in sports. It was 1963.
and a family of four used to be able to go to some games, which is a big part of what made the league in the first place, keep the younger fan reinforcements coming....
....I see the NFL as being at a tipping point, for this, and other reasons., regardless of whether it is showing up yet ion the score sheet. it less and less resembles the name that I got hooked on 50 years ago....

Yup, just like baseball, used to be you could go to a game for 50 bucks, parking and a beer or two included. Not any more.
130-150 for a regular season Dodger game. 700-800 for crummy seats at the rhumba.
Nope.

CBS has a story titled, "NFL trade rumors: Eight players who could change teams before 2026 season kicks off." They have our Maxx Crosby listed as one of the eight. They say:
It has been almost four months since the trade that would have sent Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens fell through, and it still remains arguably the biggest surprise of the offseason. The Ravens reportedly took issue with Crosby's medical examination, which not only axed the deal but also crushed his market value. As soon as he returns to the field and shows that he is fully recovered from his meniscus repair, however, interest across the league could spike again. All signs point to him making that comeback next month at the Las Vegas Raiders' training camp. The relationship between Crosby and the Raiders reportedly deteriorated late last season because of the team's handling of his knee injury, and one wonders just how much Las Vegas was able to rebuild their chemistry in the months since it attempted to move him. If he still commands anything close to two first-round picks in return, the Raiders seem likely to jump at the opportunity to load up on more draft capital in the early stages of their rebuild.

There will be a lot of scrutiny of Crosby this season, and a lot of rumors. I will go on record here and now and predict that most the scrutiny among Raiders fans will be pointing out his flaws game in and game out. And almost every rumor will be made up, be it a fan or an "insider" just to stir the pot. The guy will literally be in a no win situation. I just hope we are improved enough to give the guy a shot at the playoffs soon so we get him at his best and not when he begins to break down.
