....would not be surprised.....and a local morning show did a poll , though to be fair, it was on one of the station anchors Facebook account, I think she said, and fro what it is worth, a whopping 92% of the locals were not happy with the hire..... ...I saw this maybe an hour ago....haji81872 wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 12:50 pm I wonder if after their debacle on a press conference if they were calling up other coach's and they laughed and hung up.
I know they didn't but it would explain why after a disappointing season you promote your OC who was a part of that.

...not even talking about some of the more predictable ones, like our last season departures to the Patriots, but in addition to those, in general,it sure seems like we let a fair number of d lineman go who then become a significant contributor in some other teams d-lines...chucker wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 12:21 pm I think part of our challenge is finding a good D coordinator. Our defense just doesn't have the talent to make a coordinator look good, and I think our resources will be tilted towards offense this year in order to help Mendoza's transition.

Him potentially being promoted doesn’t preclude them from hiring him if they want him. If he’s promoted after the interviews, they can’t hire him for OC but they can hire him for HC.SuperRaider wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 3:01 am It doesn’t look good when almost every other team have already got there HC signed and getting ready for offseason…..hopefully the raiders are only holding back because they have theiron Kubiak and they really can’t do anything till after the Super Bowl…
Don’t like the news that Lombardi was fired to actually make room for Webb to become OC….Raiders should just signed him be HC now and get it over with…
I’m leery of him, seeing he’s never even been a coordinator before. That’s a giant leap to take.
LOL of course when we finally get a shot at getting our QB, we can't get a coach. This franchise is truly ran by incompetent baboons.

One thing you’re missing, there’s been reports that Seattle plans a full court press to keep Kubiak, but no report yet that he’s staying.bringdafunk wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 4:58 am LOL of course when we finally get a shot at getting our QB, we can't get a coach. That could be a hint on who we’re hiring.- These users gave a High Five to the author Corleone for the post (total 3):

Jessica Alba and I have a "verbal agreement"...but it is predicated on me being the last man on earth.

Sure, but I'm not so quick to ignore the past 23 years and assume that this is the year they finally figure it out.Corleone wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 5:26 am One thing you’re missing, there’s been reports that Seattle plans a full court press to keep Kubiak, but no report yet that he’s staying.

I think Lombardi is what we call a scapegoat so people get off Payton's ass about his decision to not kick a field goal. A fall guy per se.islandboy wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:21 pm Do you think Lombardi was just a figure head as an OC and was let go because Peyton does not want wonder boy coaching a division rival who know the Broncos like the back of his hand?

I get some of you are freaking out, however, if we want Kubiak why the hell would we just sign Webb and get it over with? That is the type of thinking that led us to get many of our past coaches.

I don't think that's close to the truth. I think Payton just looked at his staff and knew that he could lose both his pass game coordinator and run game coordinator to promotions if he kept Lombardi, and each of those guys is more valuable than Lombardi. Payton knows that when you're a smug egotistical HC who maintains a ton of control including the playcalling, all the decisions are on him and don't fall on his staff.haji81872 wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 5:57 am I think Lombardi is what we call a scapegoat so people get off Payton's ass about his decision to not kick a field goal. LaFleur? Ejero? Joseph? Question is who wants to come. Maybe it’s true that candidates are a bit wary of having the goat QB looking over the shoulder?KillerRaider30 wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 4:14 am So who are we looking at if we dont hire Kubiak or Webb?
If we haven’t hired anyone by the weekend, it means we’re all in on Kubiak and our brass thinks he’s game too. That’s a big gamble. Staffs are being filled up as we speak.
