Carr balled out yesterday, it will be interesting to see if Gruden was holding him back or if he just performs one week and doesn’t the next. Consistency has been my main issue with Carr.
Yeah, I thought he'd learn after that pick! Stop force feeding "Fetch!"(aka: Zay Jones) clearly Hes not who or what you think he is! I cant believe he makes those catches in practice, He NEVER does it in a game! Sick of seeing his dopey "aw shucks" face after he misses & again & again! "ITs NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!theres a reason he never started under Gruden!! Carr its time to give up on the Bromance! Dude! stop targeting that loser!

Last week I was informed by one or two in this forum that Carr doesn’t throw to receivers he doesn’t trust. That was the excuse for not throwing to wide open guys. Now I’m reading that Zay Jones is TRASH and the worst receiver on the planet and is to blame for Carrs INTs. But wait, if Carr keeps throwing to him he must TRUST him right?
here is the play. Safeties are playing over under and Zay is just overthrown. Greedy was not out of position but whereas Zay is seeing the ball he cannot get over to it. Under safety may be a bit out of position but he is a nonfactor because the ball was thrown far deeper than his zone coverage and he is reacting.
https://twitter.com/NFL/status/14730935 ... bqsw5z7cvm
The camera angle does not allow me to see if Zay let up on the play earlier, but it is quite obvious from where he is looking that he sees the ball. Because of how Greedy is playing in the zone and how deep he is on the play, he is in a perfect position to watch the play and react whereas Zay has to run down and get his head around on the play. It appears he does that.
Carr threw into coverage he should not have thrown into. He did not see the deep coverage spy.
Not sure if i follow, over and under would refer to the defensive front alignment, not the safeties, i'm assuming you mean one is in the box, while the other is probably playing top-down, while the inside linebacker plays trail-man
that's what I gathered from the clip
Greedy, the CB, played a deep zone and made a nice break on the ball when it could appear that Zay would maintain inside leverage on that catch - the key was for him to stay in front of the corner and use his size to come down with the ball. Was the throw perfect? no - but this isn't the first time Zay has come up short of catching a deep pass, I am convinced he is seeing the ball LATE. He had a pass hit him in the face/chest for a drop earlier in the same game - a tell-tale sign that he is seeing and picking up on the ball way too late. You simply cannot be a good receiver when you struggle with this regularly.
But until we see the All-22, we won't know for sure one way or another - but, Zay will be the last person I give the benefit of the doubt to when it comes to deep throws
It’s funny last year we basically had a common complaint of short completions on 3rd and long…. This year it’s long incompletions on 3rd and short.
I personally am not a fan of the bomb on 3rd and short unless it’s WIDE OPEN. The 1st one to Zay was pretty open but also had Renfrow for an easy 1st underneath…. And how great can you feel about throwing to Zay in general?
The int to Zay was high-degree-of difficulty and he had desean wide open for a 1st in the area Greedy Williams vacated.
Just decision making…. Take the easy completion that moves the sticks. 4 minutes left in the game there’s no need to force the ball into double coverage downfield.
Yea, Desean became wide open, but Carr had a lineman in his lap - would have been a blind throw to a spot if it were to go to jackson. There's a degree of discipline, or lack thereof, to attempt a throw like that - Carr is too robotic to improvise a throw like that, but i've seen philip rivers do it regularly.
Needs to stop? It’s year 8, this is it. What you see is what you get. His progress has stalled, he’s already peaked. If you’re happy with what you see resign him and try to build around his strengths and mask his weaknesses. If you’re not happy with what you see it’s time to move on.
The only way we mask his weakness is by making the Defense count to 10 Mississippi before they’re allowed to rush.
I’ve never seen a bigger sissy play in the NFL. We’ve had plenty of bad QB’s that were dumb-as-dirt, but a sissy little b like this dude. Man, it’s so f[raiders_icon]cking embarrassing.
Props to Carr for coming back in a hostile loud sold out Cleveland stadium. He silenced the dog pound! I don’t know who drops more passes Moreau, Zay or Desean.
But we do know who drops more footballs. Hint: Sissiest little Princess to ever play quarterback in the NFL.
BIG HINT: Dericka “eek-a-mouse” Carr.
If he was a rookie or a second year guy, this would be a reasonable suggestion.
Dude's in his 8th year.
This is like his terrible play-fake and his non-existent pump fake. Any NFL QB should be able to master the play fake in the offseason with enough work. A good pump fake is harder if you don't have big hands, but it can still be effectively utilized.
Carr has had problems with fumbling since he came into the league. I cannot imagine that no QB coach has ever tried to fix this problem. The best explanation is that Carr doesn't think it's a problem and therefore doesn't work on it.
You could tell that during the 2020 offseason, he worked on getting the ball downfield. IIRC, there were even videos showing him working on it; so he does have the ability to improve when he wants to.
What does an 8 year vet QB normally work on in the offseason? I don't know because I've never thought about it, but I do know that working on ball handling skills shouldn't take 8 years to get to.
Perhaps if they painted an XBOX controller on the football?

I will defer until I can see another angle but at the point Greedy made his break on the ball Zay was behind the play by a full step. Did he let up earlier? cannot tell from the angle. If he did not, Carr overthrew it by about 3 feet. Not really on Carr on how far he threw it, but the coverage was all wrong to make that throw.
When a receiver can't track a ball, it's always going to look like a poor throw. The throw was fine, Zay just can't track a deep ball to save his life. Ruggs would have caught that ball. Djack would have caught that ball also.
Exactly.
Carr and Ruggs practiced that same route all offseason, and now they have Zay (who is slower, and sucks ass at tracking balls in the air) running that same route, for some dumb reason.
It should be DJax, they have similar speed and he's better at tracking the deep throws.

What’s childish is grown men believing in make believe. I wonder how many of you still waiting for the day the rest of the world recognizes Dericka’s incomparably “elite” skill set, sleep by the fireplace on Christmas Eve hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa.

The dude just sucks and they need to get rid of him. Go throw money at Devante Adams next year.

Just 3 more games folks. Hoping the organization makes the right move and we no longer see Carr in silver and black.
