IMo the reason he gave back the 30M was to let the Saints agree to let him play elseware if he decided to...And we all know the shoulder surgery was BS.He simply wanted out...Allen was gone and the new HC likely would have taken the kid gloves off when dealing with his BS.

Carr coming back for a year while Mendoza sits on the bench doesn't sound so bad. Pete plays out his final year of coaching with a vet while in 2027 we land that highly coveted offensive coach to come in and make a push with Mendoza.

That isn't going to happen though as Carr would want "you have to play me in the 2nd year money" and would want a no trade clause.
