Bosa has an ACL - trade Maxx to the 49ers?

Someone posted in a thread after our loss that we should trade Maxx Crosby for a bunch of (needed) draft picks, thereby increasing our odds of picking at or near the top of the draft in 2026. As we all know, the 49ers just lost a key player on their defense -- after Fred Warner he is their most important defensive player -- and their d-line is not that deep and full of young players. And, the 49ers are in first place in the NFC West and will likely be battling for a playoff spot this season.
At first blush, I am against trading the best player we have drafted in what 25 years. But, in my frustration with the whole damn thing, I am thinking about this. The trade deadline is early November, so you likely will want to see if Carroll and staff can get this bad act together, but unless we start looking a lot better, there will be talk of trades and even, gasp, "tanking." Thoughts?

If true, it should be done this weekend.

Maxx doesn't have help to show his true potential imo. If he was on a good defense with a good defensive coordinator, I think he would make more plays.
Just how the Raiders need to build the oline apart from getting a franchise QB, the Raiders need to give Maxx help. Who on the defense is above average???

trading Maxx isn't going to make the defense better

LOL, I specifically stated "when they were traded". Miller was 32 when he was traded, and not the player he was when he was a premier pass rusher. Chubb had a premier rookie season, but hasn't produced anything close to that since. Neither was premier when they were traded.
Again, LOL. Only you would think it is valid to leave him off the list when he was a premier pass rusher, but include him when he was no longer that player. I'm sure that makes sense to you, but anyone with any critical thinking skills understands that you left him off because it didn't fit your narrative.
The first few sources I Googled disagree with that:
ESPN survey of NFL execs, coaches, and scouts rank him at 4th, just behind those three.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/455 ... n-rankings
Fox Sports had him tied for third with Parsons.
https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/2 ... d-rankings
This from the guy who told us all summer how the OL was fine. LOL again.
a) I never said he was worth that - I was just calling you out for using lame comparisons.
b) I'm not a huge Maxx guy. He's probably the best player on the roster, but they could trade away the entire roster for all I care.
c) I don't stalk your posts, I call you out for flinging poop around at other members here - I have a low tolerance for childish keyboard warriors.
d) I don't think you have any understanding of what research, or analytical thinking is.
Aww aren't you cute. I should feel special you took so much time to try and prove me wrong but yet still look like a fool.
As I stated, Von Miller WAS a premier pass rusher when he was traded. Proof of that? A simple Google search would suffice, Mr. "Research and Analytics". He put the Rams on his back that year and was one of the main reasons they won the Super Bowl. The eye test also saw him dominate in the playoffs that year. So obviously he was still a premier pass rusher. Regarding Chubb, could it be argued that the Dolphins overpaid? Sure. But at the time, Chubb was still a premier pass rusher. Maybe your definition of premier is different than most. Even Yannick was premier at the time he was traded, even if he was a one trick pony. Also from Google:
His reputation as a premier pass rusher was reflected in the draft capital teams were willing to trade to acquire him, such as the trade with the Minnesota Vikings to the Baltimore Ravens in 2020. For someone so obsessed with research and articles, maybe you should think before you flaunt.
Regarding Mack, Maxx in his prime is not comparable to Mack in his prime. Only an idiot would dispute that. That's why the first Mack trade was left off the list and same reason im leaving Parsons off the list. And Maxx is not the game wrecker that Parsons, Garrett and Watt are. I think most would agree. Some of your beloved members on here think Maxx is overrated. I'm not even close to agreeing with that. So, I don't care what cute little articles you post, which btw you def come across as a guy that cant think for himself and needs articles written by nobodies to try and justify your point. I watch the games with my eyes and then the research usually backs my eye test depending on the source. You should try it.
And the O line. Oh this will be good. Yes, the line WAS in better shape with JPJ at center. Once again, only an idiot wouldn't agree. I repeatedly stated that we were good at LT, Center and RT, that we needed to upgrade the guard positions and that we needed to draft TWO. I made it clear at nauseum that I wanted Tate Ratledge. Now, Glaze of course doesn't look good right now bc this clueless staff has the line in shambles, beginning with the JPJ debacle. So stalker, try again.
There's no keyboard warrior here. I couldn't care less about what you can or can not tolerate. Who the actual f[raiders_icon]ck are you anyway? Just a stalker. I can back my shit up regardless of what you think about my research or analytical thinking. My history speaks for itself. Im surprised you don't know that since you stalk my posts.
So...if you want to have a reasonable discussion without the "LOLs" and insults (from both sides), lmk. Until then, I'll enjoy my win.

The self promotion aside, Von was still elite when he was traded. The main reason he went for a discount was that he was in the final year of his contract with no hope he would resign, so they cut bait and took the best offer rather than let him walk without getting something for him
Mack was better than Maxx, this is also true. Mack was better vs the run and it is not close. Maxx's motor is better and Mack did disappear at times during his stint with us, but you can probably say that about most DE's.
Powers=Johnson was better at center, this is also true. Something happened that got him moved and I don't know what it is or if he is just having a sophomore slump but I would like to see this fixed as he could turn into a monster with another year under his belt. Again, it is not uncommon for guards to take a bit to get it at the next level. He was not a world beater at center last year, just better than he is this year. He should be thriving at guard as it is a bit easier to play that position so something is up.
But what I do know is providing articles to support a position is actually effective. Supporting a position that way is how good debaters win points in a debate. The eye test is often far too subjective to just rely on that. I am one who actually enjoys that format when it is effectively employed.
So the above poster probably got much of what he said right, but not all of it.

It amazes me how this works. We draft a guy, he is shit for us. He goes to another team and immediately improves. Nobody is ever going to say Jihad Ward was a world beater, but he was crap for us, leaves, immediately improves. Arden Key is crap for us, leaves, immediately gets better.
Maybe Guydon was right, maybe the curse of the old man is a thing. If only he had done that deal to build the stadium at Hollywood Park, we might be talking about our dynasty spanning decades. Dammit dude, all they wanted was for you to bring on a second team.

It really is baffling. It's literally almost everyone that leaves. Amik Robertson is another. How do we even properly evaluate a draft when the guys we pick are shit for us and ballers for another team. Smh

This is where I have a different stance.
Amik Robertson was good on the Raiders. I didn't understand when we got rid of him, and I'm not surprised he's doing well on another team.
Same with Rock Ya Sin and Arden Key. I thought they were decent on the Raiders. Key would get pressures constantly; he just couldn't finish. Not surprised he got it together with more experience.
My opinion is the Raiders keep bad (Laube) and overrated players (Maxx, Meyers), but any player that shows real potential (Key, Robertson, JPJ) they get rid of.

Rock Ya Sin is on his 5th team in 7 years he isn't that good. Key has a few splash plays and sucks the rest of the time. 95% of the guys we cut wash out of the league. People want to pretend a lot of our past players are good but it just isn't so overall

Lol downvote? Ok weirdo lol. Anyway,I didn't think it was that hard to figure out but I'll ask. What value does Maxx Crosby have on this team right now. What is he bringing to this loser, trash ass team right now. Please enlighten me.
BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 10:53 am
Good thing you guys aint running the team. You'd rather hold this team hostage and let him rot here if someone offers a 1st and a 2nd? Ridiculous.

No. My response was based on the article posted. Nobody is angry but obviously this clueless staff gets the benefit of the doubt for you. Not surprised.

I just don't know why people feed into troll behavior. They aint even worth the time it takes for me to type a post.
Dude talked up Hendon Hooker and said we need to take a WR in the 1st round. Nuff said.
BoKnows81 wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 1:21 pm
I'll go as far as I want until you actually explain what you mean since you told me to delete my post and told me i have comprehension problems. But yet you still make no sense.
So, if your post stating that dangerous throws mean that the WR is bad, is some sort of sarcasm, then maybe explain that. Clearly I'm not the only one confused.
BoKnows81 wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 4:38 am
Who said that? I think the consensus was that the 2nd round pick should of been an O lineman. Are you making stuff up again?
You insult board members more than the rest of the board combined, yet you are also the board's biggest snowflake. Pick a lane.

I said decent. He would be an upgrade over the dbs we have starting now.
Arden Key is good enough to stay on an NFL roster and in the league for almost a decade. He would be an upgrade over most of our line.

We are basically an expansion team with a 74 year old motivational speaker.
I’m not buying what they let out to the public that Maxx isn’t on the trade block. I’ve read and heard this too many times and watched the opposite occur with different teams / players.
I don’t get all the in house BS bickering and belittling. It’s bad enough watching us suck for this long, it’d sure be nice to see us try and find a little common ground instead of always trying to prove we were right.
I took a break for a bit because of it but still check in from time to time. It gets old.

And John Simpson is still playing and Jon Feliciano played until last year.
