If no one fears Maxx why was it reported by Rap and Schefter that 1/4 of the league was calling Vegas regarding a trade for Crosby?

In one game against the rams with Mayfield playing QB the RT couldn't stop him for nothing. He was held over and over and over again in that game and they just let the RT hold without calling obvious penalties on every play. Somebody suggested that "Maxx had reached his quota for the game and that they aren't going to continue to call holds on the RT". Quote unquote.BoJacksonRules wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 7:31 pm I get that the number of snaps needs to be factored in, but so does that our opponents are almost always playing with the lead.
One of the most bizarre statements I have ever heard. I have seen him literally mugged in so many games it's as criminal as that ridiculous statement. How do you account for those missed sacks because of constant mugging?!! The only reason I was for trading him was where we are at as a team, his age and the amount of snaps he was, unfortunately, allowed to play by weak coaches.

You’re Canadian right?Jeevo wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 7:32 pm Don’t get me wrong, I may still do a deal with the Ravens but I’d be looking hard for any chance to f[raiders_icon]ck them over in the future.

Baltimore offers this year 1st and next year's second and fourth that can convert to a first if he plays x number of snaps. Only way I would do a deal with Baltimore. They would have to throw in another pick.
Would either team do this? Doubtful.

Are you suggesting The Raiders beg Baltimore to go through with the deal and kick in more Raiders assets to convince Baltimore?Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 7:33 pm Depends. I could live with it, if they went through with it and we kicked in our 4th round comp pick or our 2027 4th.

Sounds like the used car lot didn't pour enough STP in the crank case before letting the Raven's drive it off the lot. The trade wasn't official until the start of the league year anyways. Not the end of the world but I doubt he will even command that much value on the market again.

Yes we can very much still afford linderbaum. We still have 37 in cap space even assuming we kept Maxx. The likely contracts we’d opt out of (if any) would be one of the two edges.16 to 88 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 7:26 pm If we can still afford the Linderbaum contract by hook or by crook and NOW they offer him more money does he go back? If he does that calls to question his character.
-He agreed to a contract already
-THEY traded for Maxx knowing they weren't going to be able to match other teams offers for him
-That in turn means having Maxx Crosby on there team was more important then him
-We wanted him so badly we made him the highest paid center in the NFL by a long shot. Higher than what they were asking for.
Does he now renege on that deal and go back to the team whose priority's were elsewhere? If he does that is a bad look.
Baltimore had a long time to negotiate with Linderbaum. They declined his 5th year option. They opted not to tag him. And allegedly their best offer was 88m over 4, compared to 81 over 3. They’re right against the cap as is. All this to say… that had more than enough opportunities to retain him if they were willing to pay.

Seeing they have history in the league of pulling this same stunt the league needs to step in and penalize them. Once it's an accident twice it's a pattern. Nobody believes them. They agreed to a trade make them honor it this time.

Teams constantly put extra blockers on him because they did fear him and feared nobody else on the defense.LayneStaley wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 7:38 pm If no one fears Maxx why was it reported by Rap and Schefter that 1/4 of the league was calling Vegas regarding a trade for Crosby?
It’s really obvious why the team lost so many games. No defensive end in NFL history would win with last seasons team. Not unless that defensive end could play quarterback too.
