I would say Ali could have beaten Tyson if they were to fight with both in their prime.[/quote]
Ali was a smart fighter. He out thought every fighter he fought even in his losses. Saddest day for me was when he fought Holmes. He had nothing left in the tank and you could see that Larry hated every punch he threw, since he had worked with Ali as a sparring partner. Tyson would not have stood a chance, Ali would have worn him down and taken his legs out from under him.

" I done wrestled with an alligator, I done tussled with a whale; handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail; only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalized a brick; I'm so mean I make medicine sick."

I would think Ali deserves his own thread, rather than talking about him in one like this especially, lol.

True, but maybe this thread has the ability to rise above its own attractive silliness from time to time to focus on topics that actually matter and that are not Raider related...without the fear of being moved to another forum....

Sir, you underestimate the original intent of the RepThread.
Sure it's de-evolved into a knuckle dragging misogynists window into soft core porn ... But I intended this thread to be Better then that,
And still have hopes it will succeed.
Let's bring up the moral focus of (some of) the posts guys .... What do ya say??

Alzado was one of the first major US sports figures to admit to using anabolic steroids. In the last year of his life, as he battled against the brain tumor that eventually caused his death, Alzado asserted that his steroid abuse directly led to his fatal illness.[11] Alzado recounted his steroid abuse in an article in Sports Illustrated,
“ I started taking anabolic steroids in 1969 and never stopped. It was addicting, mentally addicting. Now I'm sick, and I'm scared. Ninety percent of the athletes I know are on the stuff. We're not born to be 300 lb (140 kg) or jump 30 ft (9.1 m). But all the time I was taking steroids, I knew they were making me play better. I became very violent on the field and off it. I did things only crazy people do. Once a guy sideswiped my car and I beat the hell out of him. Now look at me. My hair's gone, I wobble when I walk and have to hold on to someone for support, and I have trouble remembering things. My last wish? That no one else ever dies this way

I agree Ali was the smartest fighter, watched all his fights as a kid, the X factor Tyson had was all it would have taken was a good combination series and its nite nite Ali.

Tyson went all in in the first 2 minutes of a fight. Ali was the king of figuring out how to defuse a guy early on so that he could get him into the 8th round so he could wear him out....Tyson would have been thwarted early on and set up to be taken out later in the match...Tyson was Liston before there was a Liston.
no contest, Tyson would have taken a dirt nap

An Irishman went to his first American baseball game. As the first batter made a hit, fans jumped up yelling, "RUN! RUN!"
The Irish man jumped up as well yelling, "Run, laddie! Run laddie!"
The next batter got up and made his hit. The fans again cheered, "RUN! RUN!"
The Irish man jumped up yelling "Run laddie! Run laddie!"
The third batter got up got ball 1...ball 2...ball 3...ball 4.....The umpire yelled "Take your base!"
The batter jogged toward first base.
The Irish man jumped up an yelled "Run laddie! Run laddie!"
Another fan looked at him and said, "He does not need to run, for he has 4 balls!"
The Irish man's jaw dropped, and turned and shouted, "Walk with pride, lad! Walk with pride!"

Need i point out ... This IS a RAIDERS Fan Site, and the picture taken out of context was a heart felt reminiscence
of my high school Pom-Pon squad who I fought, sweat and bleed for.
I stand my collection of work.
