they are forever trying to win Lombardi's...ty simpson will sit under stafford for 2 to 3 yrs and learn from him ...their system of using draft picks to shape the team on talent is working

I actually think the opposite. Taking Ty and getting their succession plan in place let them make a move like this. Otherwise, they’d need to hold onto draft picks so they can move up if Stafford decides to hang em up.

It's a great move if it works.

We tried it with Plunket/Wilson and back then most thought it was a great move when it happened. Rich get richer if I recall.
