I’ve come up with the perfect 2 birds, 1 stone idea.
The coaches are running out of excuses to not start the 2nd best offensive lineman on the team. So here’s the fix. Have JPJ break Geno’s jaw. Coaches get a legitimate reason to bench JPJ, and the fans don’t have to watch that sad bastard struggle to play QB anymore.
Win-win.
Or you know, start the best f[raiders_icon]cking center on the team and bench Geno. So simple.

The problem is EVERYTHING revolves around the QBs rookie contract and his (potential) second one.Oaktownonly wrote: Wed Oct 22, 2025 12:26 pm I agree and why can't we do both at the same time? Start swinging away for a QB early in the draft and fix the line through the draft and free agency. It isn't we have to do one or the other.
I’m not saying the line isn’t important, but the minute you draft a QB high the clock starts ticking.
There is only one QB slot, there are five slots on the line. While not easy, it is easier to fill the line then get a franchise QB.

But he's 'turning the corner' according to Gramps. Didn't throw a pick against the Queefs. Yeehaw.

Shit QB. Shit HC. Shit roster. Shit staff.
Ladies and gentlemen, the 2025 Raiders.
All that's left are the uniforms.

Yeah, but what great uniforms they are. When we devolve into the distopian hellscape, should be any day now, the guys with the Raider unis are going to run the f[raiders_icon]cking show. Book it.RAIDERMAN818 wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 9:55 am Shit QB. Shit HC. Shit roster. Shit staff.

I believe as with last season the OL has been worse run blocking than pass protection. It can’t be ignored that Smith holds on to the ball too long but Kelly’s offense hasn’t exactly been very creative in scheming open receivers. The entire offense is a mess just like last season and what’s interesting is that the offensive staff is all new and is the QB and RB. The Raiders keep hiring the wrong people to run the offense.Corleone wrote: Wed Oct 22, 2025 9:27 pm Seahawks fans last year blamed the OL for Genos problems, sometimes QB play can mask issues in pass blocking and make it look worse as well.

But he was efficient and had zero INT.BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 3:01 pm Just a friendly reminder...
10 for 16
67 yards
0 TDs
That's an actual QB stat. In a NFL game.
That is all.

The biggest sign of a bad OC is when he tries to make the players fit his scheme instead of creating a scheme for the players that are there.heavyD wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 1:25 pm I believe as with last season the OL has been worse run blocking than pass protection. Not an OC, but that is why I believe Don Shula is maybe the greatest coach of all.

I'm of the mindset that, if the player is good enough, he'll fit any scheme.RickRyb wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 3:57 pm The biggest sign of a bad OC is when he tries to make the players fit his scheme instead of creating a scheme for the players that are there.

Of course you can have one, but probably not enough to run a pre-determined offense.BoKnows81 wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 4:01 pm I'm of the mindset that, if the player is good enough, he'll fit any scheme.

This is true. Snake could go vertical despite not having a big arm. Gannon later showed he could play extremely well in Norv Turner's offense.BoKnows81 wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 4:01 pm I'm of the mindset that, if the player is good enough, he'll fit any scheme.
In fact if you look at the evolution from Gruden to Trestman to Norv Turner, 2000-2004, Gannon's adaptability was pretty f[raiders_icon]cking amazing.
Shula is a great example because he understood when he had generational talent and schemed to maximize that talent.
He coached one team that fielded the most punishing , diverse running games ever and then completely flipped the script 12 years later and employed the most impressive passing attack in NFL history.
He never dug his heels in and rested on his past laurels.
