Another rewrite of history.

Stafford was known for not using his running game or his TE. He forced the ball to his WRs, which is why his 1st half stats are miserable and how he got all those 4th quarter comebacks. No QB in NFL history has more come from behind wins/and close losses than Stafford... because he could destroy a 'prevent defense' with the best QBs in the NFL. When Carr does the same thing... it's called 'garbage time' points.
interesting, Stafford over the last 8 years has been in the top 10 in passing to the TEs on his team. As for his using the running game, you do realize that he can only audible at the line, he does not call his own plays.

So who is rewriting history?
I don’t understand the comparison of Carr to Stafford other than situations with the teams.

Stafford stands tall in the pocket, doesn’t panic, goes through his progressions, etc. basically all the things a NFL QB is supposed to do.

The notion that should Carr move on he is suddenly just going to flourish because Stafford did?

While I suppose he could generally speaking things doesn’t work out the same exact way between two different QBs.
If you look at lions message boards, their fans were done with him.

No wins against teams with winning records
Stat Padford
Gunslinger who threw way too many picks

I agree that he has intangibles as Rainman said. But as a neutral observer, you can always evaluate things differently.

Carr is viewed well around the league and by media from what I gather

Execs will look at the hot start this year and see a very high ceiling. Then they will look at the shitshow now and say “it is not his fault it all came crashing down. Put him in the right system and the guy can throw some dimes”.

https://www.nflanalysis.net/why-derek-c ... s-in-2021/
I have no issue with that analysis.

My point is that simply because the situations are similar there are posters here and the talking heads online repeatedly saying that like it’s fact. “Hurr Durr, Stafford did it, Carr will!”

For all we know he could go to the Saints and win a super bowl, he also could go to the saints and become worse than Heath Schuler there. Both are possibilities but the Carr fans won’t acknowledge or seemingly won’t admit that is a possibility. The likely outcome is somewhere in the middle.

The fact is no one knows what will happen, my issue is with the certainty that people have. If that’s the case (not saying you) please give me the winning lottery numbers.

Then there is the whole aspect of fans who are fans of players over the team. There are plenty of people who are Carr fans first, Raiders fans second.

Carr has always faltered in big games. The only big games he’s really played in as a pro have been for the division lead and he gets smacked everytime

I have no idea how it will work out. What I am reasonably certain of is that we can get a decent haul for him. A first and a second. Maybe two seconds and a third. Something like that

Carr is complete junk. No team would trade more than a 2nd & 3rd round picks for him. I can see Saints, Giants or Steelers being desperate enough to pull the trigger.

Colon Cowturd also thinks Sam Darnold is a franchise QB, Aaron Rodgers washed up and Carson Wentz damaged goods. 0-3. Btw, he went 1-4 on his "Blazing 5" this past weekend. :clown:

While I suppose he could generally speaking things doesn’t work out the same exact way between two different QBs.
The situation is the biggest connection. The lions and raiders are maybe the 2 most perpetually bad franchises in the league. Logically, If you’ve got a QB that can consistently win 7-9 games with a bottom 10 roster…. How many can he win with a top 10 roster?

Now whether that happens with Carr is a different story. I consider him a “poor mans stafford”. But speaking to why he’s probably got way more trade value than what many on here think… that’s it.
