Actually, I like this draft, Spytek moved around a lot and got us some nice pieces. We did not get everything but it feels like Raiderland Christmas.
So let's see those overreaction grades. I know, I know, you cannot grade a draft for 3 years. Boo f[raiders_icon]cking Hoo. Lighten up Francis and grade this glorious weekend.
Mendoza by himself does not get us an A but the rest of the group certainly has to impress when put together. McCoy if he heals up makes the robber barons of the draft.
And there will be UDFAs and post draft pickups and drops. Tyree is going, well eventually, I mean the door s 40 yards away so it will take some time.
Grade A- but if McCoy pans out the grade could change.

I forgot about Ivan. Whatever became of him?
He’s right here in Discord chat. Same off wall takes as ever. Gave the Raiders an F on the draft I think.
Still entertaining in a broken family drunk uncle kind of way

I don't count Mendoza as part of this draft's grading. He was the consensus #1 and almost no amount of insanity would've prevented us nor anyone else on all but a few teams from drafting him.
Thus, I give the draft a B-. This is largely because of McCoy. IMO, you don't draft someone with a severe injury that's foreseeably going to need further operations before he sees the field again--if he ever sees it again. And if he ever does, it's likely he won't be ready to go until 2027 and by then, he won't have played a down of football in a real game in two years.
There's a difference between a project and a player who carries the very real possibility to never play again. People can try and justify it by saying it's just a fourth round pick, but good depth players can still be found in that round. D-line, LB, an uninjured CB, etc. would have all been better choices IMO.
OR McCoy could play this year. He worked out at his Pro Day and I believe ran the 40 in the 4.4s. The ACL tear is healed and is not an issue. The bone plug is something else entirely that may not need anything done. McCoy has said it is up to The Raiders for what to do with it.

We all have an opinion one way or another and who’s to say which is right. Personally I love the pick as it’s hard to even make the team as a 4th round selection. If you do, chances are you’ll be special teams, which is definitely a need but I believe those can be found almost any round.
I’m wondering how deep our medical staff went into his charts, but if they did dig deep and came to the conclusion he’s worth it at this spot, I’m all for it. Don’t get me wrong, I have concerns myself, I’m just of the thought that he did great at his pro day and he says he feels good and I doubt our staff wasn’t consulted on it.
Guess we’ll find out and I’m sure we all want our selection team to be right about this one.
Might’ve been too much for him, maybe they decided to get him on defense telling him to just get the guy with the ball. There’s your new DT….maybe…maybe?
Definitely much harder to protect than destroy

High reward, low cost player. McCoy was a great pick even if he never suits up again. He was projected much higher. I would do it again and again. McCoy is almost certainly going to play again, unless the bone plug fails and that is a low possibility outcome. He rain a sub 4.4 40 at his pro day. I would be cautious with him, but I would also push him to be prepared this next season pending our medical staff getting further looks at the knee.

It's gotta be way way harder to be an O lineman than a D lineman. Would love to see what he can do as NT in preseason.

They had a lot of visits with WR's & DT's prior to the draft then didn't address either of those spots until late. Probably saw most of them as graded about the same as what they already have at those spots. Being this isn't likely a fast 1 yr turnaround and more of a multi yr rebuild it was probably smart not to force it, long ways from now but likely WR is a high choice next draft.
They did seem to like the DB's in this class while feeling the current group needed retooling. Hopefully they found at least 1 that can get his hands on the ball. I don't know enough to complain about any part of it just looking forward to watching what they become.

I believe the coaching staff has this exact idea in mind.
Just tell the big lug, "You stand here (nt), destroy anyone in other uniform, crush boy with football"
am very interested to see what this guy has a defensive lineman

Who knows, translation from Rugby player to NFL player is hugely difficult. His chances at any position is remote

Hard to argue but his best chance is at DT. If he can take up a couple offensive linemen to keep the linebacker clean he’s done his job honestly.
You’re killing the vibe man

No stretch of the imagination to assume this was suggested by Pete’s moron son. Get this dude on the see-ball get-ball program.
It doesn’t say much, but him being back on the defensive side probably happened as soon as big brain Brendon was out the door…
Or maybe another RB?…
