Vinny B sounded like he was throwing shade on Flores today…and not just usraiderjohn wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 12:36 pm Agreed, then Spytek came out and said as much in his presser. But before the presser there were rumors of NE redo with Flores as the HC and Daboll as the OC. Media pundits are still circling that as a possibility. Media knows this is where you get your heavy clicks. So probably throwing sh!t on the wall. We heard it, Carroll was a Davis hire, Kelly was a Brady hire, it's like WTF? Let Spytek hire the HC, he steps aside, goes back to scouting reports, while the hired HC interviews for his own staff.

Just due diligence. We have to do a proper search and talk to a lot of guys and find out what has/hasn't worked for them as coordinators and coaches. How do they see us, the roster, working with a rookie QB, personnel...etc..etc. This is better than being fixated on some guy from the start

Totally disagree. To me, it's a complete waste of the Raiders time to interview garbage, which Nagy is. I'd rather them be fixated and go get their guy. They were fixated on Ben Johnson last year. Unfortunately he wasn't fixated on us. But at least they knew who they wanted.Marzan wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 12:54 pm Just due diligence. With Kubiak at OC for the Saints (Carr as QB) they put up something like 120 points in the first 3 games against good defenses. Then the wheels came off when like 3 offensive starters (including the center) got injured in the same game, Carr and Taysom Hill both injured later, and the season went to shit

So my take away is Kubiak cannot adjust to circumstances all teams face during a season.FlyBono24 wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 1:17 pm With Kubiak at OC for the Saints (Carr as QB) they put up something like 120 points in the first 3 games against good defenses. Are we going to kick the tires on Kingsbury?
Is that an old man statement or what?

Im pretty convinced Kubiak is a very good coordinator. The question is does he have the leadership to be the head coach. It appears BJ and Coen did but many do not.Attyla wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 1:31 pm So my take away is Kubiak cannot adjust to circumstances all teams face during a season.

Yeah, the incredibly important question that is hard to answer until you actually see it in action.DanKD wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 2:00 pm Im pretty convinced Kubiak is a very good coordinator. God forbid we talk to and learn something about the thought processes of our biggest rival. Oh the horror. This one interview will cost us the next great coach.Marzan wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 12:54 pm Just due diligence.
