AOC drafted by McD cant run but throws a decent ball. Reminded me of a Brady *type for the offense he was running.BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 3:55 pm Yea and? You aint gonna a catch me defending him but its undeniable that the two situations were completely different. AO12 was a rookie, not a 12 year vet. Oh, and AO12 didn't cost us nearly as much as this clown, in any way shape or form.
We failed to DEVELOP him.
3 HCs and 3 OCs in his first 3 years.
Another Davis FAIL

It's the Jets. They'd give us a full box.haji81872 wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 7:08 am But would the Jets be willing to give up a half eaten box of Twinkies?

This is his 10th season and you want to hang your hat on one good season. The other season you call good finished with 20TD and 9INT(below most of Derek Carr's seasons honestly), that is pretty mid to me, and last season he led the league in INT (21TD to 15INT). He's also now 35 years old, an age most QB's are retired. Paying him what we did was absurd.haji81872 wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 6:35 am Geno had two good seasons and one mediocre season. I think we can all agree that no matter how we felt at his trade, its time to abandon ship. Smith blows (I had NO idea he was this bad). We all think we can get that QB who brings it with a change of scenery. I will not Monday morning QB this (we all bat 100%). We may have the 2 worse QB's in the league (to got with the worse OC and OL coach). Couple that with a bad coach and a questionable GM (I am being kind), and you reap what you sow.

The Jets.haji81872 wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 6:35 am Geno in a return to the Jets for a 6th round pick. Who says no?
Because his contract is prohibitive.
We would have send a pick with him.

I would rather have Ray Charles play QB than dude. How the f[raiders_icon]ck can a 12 year vet throw so many balls into double and triple coverage. Sure our OL blows. Sure our OC blows. However, it is inexcusable to make those throws. I will not even get into the throws he did not make when guys were WIDE open. He is playing scared know. He looks like Garopablow with his nickel and dime shit (difference is that Jimmy would occasionally hit on those throws.

It's hard to fathom anyone would take up for Geno at this point & time...even his most hardcore supporters from off season have jumped ship lol

I didn't realize he had hardcore supporters. From everything I read on here everyone was meh at best about the move. Most everyone knew it was a stop gap toopfish57 wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 8:30 am It's hard to fathom anyone would take up for Geno at this point & time...even his most hardcore supporters from off season have jumped ship lol

Having watched him play in Seattle at first blush I wasn't thrilled about the signing. That being said the Raiders have had some success with veteran QB reclamation projects that haven't played that great elsewhere but have had stretches where they were pretty solid.Corleone wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 8:00 am This is his 10th season and you want to hang your hat on one good season. They have also had their share of duds.
While I wasn't expecting Rich Gannon I felt something along the lines of a Jeff Hostetler was reasonable. Instead we got Matt Flynn or Aaron Brooks, take your pick. There were not many options.
The Kool Aid soured rather quickly.
Willmark keeps saying this and I am inclined to agree that until this team makes a concerted effort to draft a QB it will be a perpetual "Meet the new Boss, Same as the old Boss" loop.
Let's not get fooled again.

Now that Russell Wilson and Justin Fields have been benched, Geno is now the worst veteran starter remaining from week 1 qbs.

Top is Russ, middle is Fields, bottom is our boy.DanKD wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 3:04 pm Now that Russell Wilson and Justin Fields have been benched, Geno is now the worst veteran starter remaining from week 1 qbs.
Could make the case that he was already the worst, just depends what you prioritize from your QB, but if he's better, it's definitely not by much.
Here's Sam Darnolds stats btw:
