I wonder how many coaches Al would have gone through as compared to his offspring these past years.

Probably even. But I do think a few coaches would have quit if Al was still running the show in 2025. We could be in the middle of Art Shell 3.0 if Al was still here.Xramfan wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 9:21 am I wonder how many coaches Al would have gone through as compared to his offspring these past years.

Davis would have benched Geno, Pickett and O'Connell and have promoted Smith back to starter by now.
He also would have fired Carroll, Spytek and brought back Pierce so he could fire him again. He would have done it using the overhead projector and then fired the projector as well.

The projector was, still is and will always be innocent.Attyla wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 9:52 am Davis would have benched Geno, Pickett and O'Connell and have promoted Smith back to starter by now.

I remember many around here saying no way to Baker Mayfield. More were even more adamant not having Aaron Rodgers be our QB.
We would be lights years ahead with either one of them at QB.
Imagine what Rodgers could do with Thornton and Bowers.
I wanted Geno to work out and still hope he does.
He is not the same caliber of QB as Baker or Aaron.

Well-he never would have brought Gruden back. Hue Jackson probably would not have lasted very long.Xramfan wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 9:21 am I wonder how many coaches Al would have gone through as compared to his offspring these past years.
That is an interesting question. I think it would have come down to who he replaced Hue Jackson with.

I'm sure the Jets are thrilled with the Rodgers signing. Tens of millions wasted.islandboy wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 10:09 am I remember many around here saying no way to Baker Mayfield. More were even more adamant not having Aaron Rodgers be our QB.

I am not sure you can point out the jets in that situation. If Mark Sanchez is convicted, which is worse, jail or going back to the Jets?FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 11:04 am I'm sure the Jets are thrilled with the Rodgers signing. Tens of millions wasted.
That is about one of the worst run organizations right up there with the Raiders, Browns and Cowboys.

Brett Favre didn't exactly light it up as a Jet in 2008. He goes to the Vikings and plays like an MVP candidate the following season. In retrospect Baker Mayfield would have been awesome but I doubt he would have been very successful as a Raider, nor would Rodgers.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 11:04 am I'm sure the Jets are thrilled with the Rodgers signing. I hate to admit it but we are a dumpster organization. Dumpster organizations have a way of bringing down the talent they can get into the building or become a refuge for losers. As others have commented the Jets share the same dumpster culture.

You think we are better run? Rodgers lasted a few plays and blew out his Achilles. If we traded for him and that happened the same people would have their pitchforks outAttyla wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 11:08 am I am not sure you can point out the jets in that situation. Class? I don't think we were ever the "class". We may have been the best, but us and class shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence.raider_kin wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 1:04 pm You guys remember when we were the class of the AFC? Yeah, LONG time ago.

1983 was a fun year. 1985 we got close, but in 1986 we jumped the shark.BoKnows81 wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 1:09 pm Class? I don't think we were ever the "class". We may have been the best, but us and class shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence.
Howie rapping is just a crime against humanity. Gerry Curl Todd was painful but Marcus trying to look cool with sunglasses?
We needed to let the Bears have their day but we thought we were going to be in the hunt every year. Oh well, the 80s had their share of bad looks, we just added a layer to the list of bad looks.
