There is not a single thing in this post that I don't have the opposite opinion of on Maxx.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 10:28 pm I was ambivalent about trading him, provided someone was willing to overpay. Im definitely now more than OK trading him. He is a self absorbed prima donna loose cannon with a lot of wear and tear. What we dont need is an insubordinate player that thinks hes entitled to publicly undermine the authority of the GM. If a lesser player did what he did, he would be gone. I cant think of anything more corrosive than having two different sets of rules for players, because that breeds resentment. This team desperately needs a culture change, and Im not sure that Crosby is part of the answer.

I don’t think anyone’s suggesting trading him as a direct response to a video or his social media presence. I’d say the general sentiment is that his demeanour is wearing thin on some. 2 years ago he would’ve mostly been considered untradeable. Now, it wouldn’t be cheap… but there is a price.haji81872 wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 8:15 am Raider fans all up in their feels. Let's trade away our one superstar player because I don't like his podcast and he posted a video. Who cares? I could care less if he posted a video of himself doing backflips off the top of a house. You want to trade him because we can get picks and it makes great sense, sure. If you want to trade him because he is angry about not getting to play and the team tanking, that simply makes no sense.
At least, that’s my interpretation of where the broader fan base stands. I also think there’s just a grating effect of the constant trade speculation around him.

Im not a fan of Max as the leader of the defense. Him being on the field doesn't seem to resonate with the guys anymore than him being off the field. That indicates a leadership vacuum, I dont think the other guys buy into what hes selling. Its almost like they tried harder the last game with him off the field. But even mid season there isnt any consistency at all.

I think there will be some negative reaction to your take, but I am tending to agree with you. Other players don’t rally around him; he seems to be in his own celebratory world most of the time. But in any case, at this point in his career and with the roster we have, I am in favor of trading him for as much as we can get this off-season. I was OK with trading him at the deadline during the season so I feel that way even more so now. The final note is that we traded for two what looked like top defensive linemen and both fizzled. Of course I am talking about Chandler Jones and Christian Wilkins. Character is a huge factor in building a team.rich72 wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 11:16 pm Im not a fan of Max as the leader of the defense. As long as any player gives 100% on the field, I can be very tolerant of their drama off the field within legal parameters of course.
I am curious how Al would have treated Max back in the day. If Max ever showed up Al, he probably would have kept him on the team but benched him for the rest of his contract lol. However, if Max knew Al, he wouldn't be as loose lipped as he has been with Mark either.

We have one impact player on D. I don't want us to reduce that to zero.

I get why people might want to get rid of our best player on defense. I mean, those picks we would get. We could move up in the draft and get our QB of the future.chucker wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 10:10 am We have one impact player on D. I don't want us to reduce that to zero.

A boat is a boat but a mystery box could be anything. It could even be a boat.Attyla wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 11:05 am I get why people might want to get rid of our best player on defense. I mean, those picks we would get. We could move up in the draft and get our QB of the future.

People ( me) hate on this guy because he all the drama all the time. The podcast, the AP, the surgery, the instagram. That shits a turn off...he thinks hes bigger than the team. He resigned here knowing its a shitty team but was ok to grab the money. He is an employee…the team didnt ask for his opinion about his knee. They pay , you follow instructions. Hes just an employee. Ill be so glad when this guy moves on.

What I have not spent any time on yet is who we can get as the first pick in the second round. I assume almost oll of us are on board with an offensive lineman. On the other hand, we are weak at defensive back linebacker, etc. I realize that after free agency all these guesses will change.

Capt obvious I know but it will depend on what we get in FA. Seems FA has a few options for linemen and the draft may lean to other needs. BPA first and if there is a tie, what is your biggest need.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 11:53 am What I have not spent any time on yet is who we can get as the first pick in the second round. He is actually a contractor. So not quite the same thing. Since he does not work directly for the organization he can in fact express his opinions regarding his knee. Actually any player can do the same. And there are a shit ton of players who either have a podcast or are on them a lot. Instagram, or Twitter (X) a shit ton of guys do that as well. And I don't see direct evidence that he thinks he is bigger than the team. I think he knows he is one of the top talents on the team. And he is right there, and the All Pro selections bears that out. And further, he did not resign with the team. He extended his contract. And in that regard, since he was under contract he signed the extension with the team he was on. And finally, grabbing the money? Yea, guys do that. But Maxx earned the money with his play on the field. Get the money while you can. Careers are short so get all you can while you can.Swagron wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 11:44 am People ( me) hate on this guy because he all the drama all the time. Love me some Maxx. Superstars do not play for the Raiders often so let's get one and maybe, just maybe, we can draft a few more.

Im not really on board trading away the best player. The off field crap, I dont even pay attention. He ain't drunk driving, beating his wife or any nefarious activities. His play on the field would be hard to replace. If it were that easy we would have 11 all pros. For every 1 Max Crosby there are 10 to 15 Tyree wilsons.I wont throw myself off a cliff if hes traded but its just not a good idea

There’s a lot of language semantics here, but the optics remain.Attyla wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 11:58 am He is actually a contractor. So not quite the same thing. As a contractor, his input is not required. Again, follow the instructions and be quiet. Employer wants to protect their investment so have the surgery. Trying to show up the employer on IG was just bullshit. Him backing AP just made him look stupid.
Good player, but haven’t won anything with him and we’re league worse this year. Not contributing much to winning lol. He’s already peaked, sell now.
