Post Game thread - no moral victories, But…
Don’t believe in moral victories but the Raiders fought till the end.
In years past this team would have folded. It wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t mistake free but we just proved we can go toe to toe with the Chiefs this year.

The team had a great first half, ended the half with points, started the second half with points and had more momentum than it had all game.
The announcers talked about sending a message that you’re playing to win. Well, I think the players would have felt like they were going to win if it was 16-10 instead of having it be 13-10 and knowing the coaches just threw away points.

Actually what is maddening is it possibly was a huge reason we didn’t win. We made the big mistakes in this game. That and the fumble were the biggest mistakes.Pseudoscot wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2026 9:13 am I've been pondering the game overnight. There is far more to be excited over than be disappointed about even though we couldn't get the win.
Andy Reid (and his team) are one of the best in the league and we very nearly caused an upset. We fought hard and kept up the intensity until the final whistle. I've always said that there is no shame losing to better players as long as our team gives everything they have and we certainly did that yesterday.
I have no problem with going for it on 4th down. On paper it looks like we left the 3 pts on the field, but the game state would have changed significantly if we took the fg. It wasn't the reason we didn't win. I'm fine with being aggressive and going for it although the play call was a poor decision.
We have a talent deficiency in particular areas. This can't be fixed in one year but the signs are very promising. We now have a large enough sample size to know what needs upgrading.
Nasty, road grading guards who have bad intentions and an attitude of eating the person in front of them.
Giant man mountain DT who shits double teams onto the opposing qb and makes rb's bounce onto the floor for no gain
2x WR who makes the opposing secondary stay honest. One big red zone target and one shifty speed merchant
We aren't far off and the improvement in coaching is having a huge impact. So far, this season has been way beyond where I hoped we would be. I'm excited to watch us play and know that we will give anyone a hard game. There's a tough run of games coming up and I hope we don't lose our collective heads if there's a few more losses sprinkled in there. After all these years we are finally trending in the right direction. Got to give Kubiak props for the job he's done so far, fingers crossed he keeps it going.
The game state would have been more to our advantage if we took the points.
Imagine if you take 3 points away from the Chiefs instead. The difference would be huge.

Yeah. I processed this as "sick"(??) but that he'd still play? Ok. Good. Hope he's ok. Does this mean he just puked or something? A sick update? Fever?Steve007 wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2026 11:42 am Brock Bowers was sick but still had 6 catches for 86 yards and a td. I wonder how big of a difference it would have made if he wasn’t sick. Also how sick was he?

Yep that's a key part beyond simply making it or not.
Getting the first doesn't guarantee 7 and strong chance you get 3 that you already had.

Special teams have been terrible all year, especially on returns. The ST coach better figure this shit out or he'll be the first one fired!!Goodtimes333 wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2026 10:08 am Going up 16-10 at that point in the game was the way to go. 4th & 2? No thanks. Kick the FG. The play call was dumb. I love Klint but that was awful. I believe it was from the shotgun, no play action fake. Just snap & pass from the gun.. I think the play call makes it worse, to be honest. 4th & 1 or less, go for it. Otherwise no. That play call needed a play action if you needed to go for it IMO.
Blitzing Mahomes that often is not smart. That's exactly what he wants a defense to do.
Kirk Cousins is playing top 10 QB level ball. He really is. He deserves major props. He had a great game.
Special teams needs to be sat down & sorted out. In a very profound way. The Bullshit on the returns needs to stop. Can't have that continuing to occur.
Overall, they played tough. This one hurts bit more because I had a 800+ dollar payout off of $20 investment f[raiders_icon]cked over because Dean finished with ONE tackle short.. figured 6 tackles for a game like this would be a gimme for Nakobe lol. Fuckkk
Fumbles, idiots not knowing when to fair catch, guys like Benson running backwards or sideways every time

No moral victories but... some victories are very costly...
Here's a free article from The Athletic about the KC locker room after the game--they were not whooping and hollering...

Late to the Forum here, but I saw the whole game (thank you SkullCrusher). Overall, I agree -- the Raiders are back -- not all the way, but certainly on the way. They easily could have won this game but for a couple of big plays.
I just re-watched the forced fumble on the KO return. The Chiefs are so well-coached -- they kicked far away from Luabe who is having success in returns, to the far left corner when the barely used Young was stationed. Young, BTW, is a 5th year pro who has hardly played for Seattle or us. Then, you can bet that the Chiefs ST coach said "kick it to Young and then try to punch it out." Mission accomplished.
The weaknesses in our O-line were exposed as was speed on the edges (Walker going around them twice). The Raiders are doing better roster--wise, but we still don't have that many "play makers" on this team. Combine play makers with great coaching and you get the Chiefs. They execute well, know how to win, etc. We just need to hang in there and hope that week 18 finds us in a position to take over the division lead when we play them again.

A safety isn't a 20-point difference.CWood24 wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2026 5:02 pm I keep seeing this same narrative, who is to say that if we drafted Boston over Stukes the Chiefs wouldn’t have put 50 on us
Stukes is one of the reasons the D has played well so no passing on Boston wasnt a bad idea
Easier to find a good WR than it is a good Safety
But it is all swings & roundabouts
Well, Spytek has proven that wrong. Since we have no WRs worth anything.

Well, I have taken my time to comment on the game. Read a lot of opinions and processed what I saw. And man, there were a ton of mistakes.
You always put a spy on the punter. We did not. You never let your guy break for the end zone uncovered. We did. You never take points off the board in a very close game. We did. Glaring mistakes that should not happen.
Run blocking was jacked. Just utter crap. Play calling was spotty at best. Using Brock as a decoy did work for a while. I get it, get the ball in your playmaker's hands. But we forced that more than a couple times. Meyer was getting looks, so you use Brock more to get the ball in the hot hand.
But way too many plays that took way too long to develop.
On a positive note, we got after Mahomes, we may have only gotten to him twice, but we hit him a lot. Good to see that for sure. Dean with another nice game for sure. Offensive line can be offensive at times but we kept Cousins fairly clean. But we gotta run block worth a damn or we are going to get more of these kinds of results. We had the ball with a chance to tie or win outright. That was nice to see, but you have to finish and we did not. This is not some learning curve, guys do not need to "learn to win." That is such a crock and it is what losers say when they lose.
I got what I wanted, we went up against one of the best and we hung in there with them. And that is why I am so disappointed with the result.

tyreek with us would work in kubiaks offense, the raiders need a guy that threatens the defense and force is to open up in order to get our run game going...better hope mahomes doesn't find his wr1 in tyreekOaktownonly wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2026 9:55 am Heard on one of the shows this morning that Tyreek Hill is looking for another team and could go back to KC. Would he be a fit in Kubiaks offense? I think so if the money was right.
