He said Derek is not a fit for the Saints during one of his rants. I am not sure why he says that, they have a decent line, decent receivers and a good RB
They also have a bit of a defense. And that would move the Saints into the discussion for best in the division.

And I'll admit, I love seeing Stephen A. dog on the Cowboys for just that reason

If Carr is traded it is a win win for everyone involved.
Carr would probably get less $$ in the FA market.
Saints get a QB and might get cap relief towards their QB via a trade.
Raiders get Picks.
Just a sour ending about Carr's tenure as a Raider if he just left during the season because he was benched, Forced himself to be cut without potential Raiders compensation, and while also leaving the Raiders with dead cap $$. Guess overtime stuff like that is forgotten.

Latest from Canal St. Chronicles:
https://www.canalstreetchronicles.com/2 ... derek-carr
I had seen a report saying Carr cancelled his appointments with other teams. Apparently, there were no other teams.
So with no real competition, why wouldn't the Saints wait till he's cut, save the draft picks, and write up a contract they're comfortable with? Makes no sense to me if they make this trade, but hey... GO SAINTS!

"Carr was then said to be on his way back to Las Vegas and had canceled his meeting with the Carolina Panthers, but this turned out to be false."The Second meeting
Per Sean Fazende, Carr had a second visit to the Saints today, accompanied by his wife, Heather Neel. Carr was then said to be on his way back to Las Vegas and had canceled his meeting with the Carolina Panthers, but this turned out to be false.
Conclusion
The two teams reportedly agreed on a trade, which allowed the Saints to speak with Carr in the first place. Derek Carr has a no-trade clause, so any team that trades for him must first get his approval.
The Raiders have until next Wednesday to trade or release Carr until his base salary of $32.9 million becomes guaranteed.
The Raiders are likely to take on some of his contract still if a trade were to take place. The Raiders are desperate, and the Saints need a quarterback. It’s looking more like Derek Carr will soon be a New Orleans Saint.

They cant pay the players they have now, much less more high round picks. Its in everones best intrest for carr to get traded.

Draft compensation is cheap. A team in cap hell is going to pay a middling QB $40+M?

Last year the WTFs traded a 2 and a 3 for Carson Wentz and the Colts traded a 3 for Matt Ryan. Each guy was about $30 million. Don't underestimate the level of desperation teams have at the QB position and don't underestimate the "I think they failed him and we'll make him work" attitude of NFL coaches.
Funny thing is, Dalton in the same span (9 seasons) has 3000 more yards and 30 more tds than Carr.
You know that’s all our defenses fault right?
expect an announcement after the game Sunday is what I am now hearing. Mark does not want to steal any thunder from the game. I expect a leak prior to that though.
