To be fair, the way the team is fading, again, and the fact that the same shit has been rehashed here, over, and over, and over,...i am surprised that anyone would bother to continue this thread, and more so, what seems to be on an hourly basis.
Were i retired, or for whatever reason, had nothing better to do, i'd probably rather whittle, play checkers, or watch Gunsmoke re-runs than continue to step in this one again.
...and you are right. I would expect another teaser by Carr, though not likely in the next one....
not retired, not a whittler, not a checker player, not a Gunsmoke fan. But I get your point, but at the same time, the entertainment value of Carr's ups and downs cannot be overstated. And his brothers are funny in an unintentional way.
I guess if I have one area of disappointment, it would be how the fans react. If Carr has a good game, his detractors tend to vanish, when he has a bad game, his supporters tend to do the same. I am neither, though I tend toward the detractors. When Carr has a good game, I say he had a good game. When he does not, I say he does not. In the off season when we are just guessing, I tend toward his flaws but that is because I really want the team to do well, and that starts with the most important guy on the field. I don't use "roll eyes" emojis or stupid shit like that when someone decides to challenge my views, I just discuss. But to each their own, the group as a whole are entertaining enough for me.
Once again, I love it when somebody actually posts these Carr sucks game footage.
The circled receiver was not open when Carr looked at his first read. Carr had to make a quick decision. He made his quick decision. The circled receiver was not in the play!!!
Thank you for allowing me to disprove the flawed claim. Carr never looked to his right because he was in the red zone throwing a quick read pass to his left. What part of that isn't clear?
Who was he covered by? The blitzing linebacker who tried to grab jersey because he instantly knew he was getting burned? Carr misread the hot read on a 3rd down blitz. Nice try though.
actually, if Carr had not rushed (he had time) he could have seen the wide open receiver. It was a clean pocket well into his throw. He just latched onto one receiver and did not even attempt the progressions. So you disproved nothing.

Quick read pass to QB left. Receivers on right not uncovered at LOS. No need to see it. QB 101. Run the play called, don't worry about the fans criticizing you for missing a receiver who was not in the play.

once again, carr missing open receiver
carr is a 1 read quarterback and doesn't go through progression
Now, to be fair to him, he’s only had eight years of experience. He just needs more time. Maybe by 2028?

There was no coverage assignment on Jacobs. It was a blitz.
It matters because most elite QB's can recognize the extra rusher and throw the ball in that direction. Most often Carr does not do this, misses the open receiver, and takes needless hits or allows the play to be blown up because in year 8 he still can't read a defense pre-snap.

He stared down the deep route so hard that he pulled the coverage assignment off Renfrow. That deep pass might've been there if he didn't telegraph it.

Run the play called, don't worry about the fans criticizing you for missing a receiver who was not in the play.
you are again incorrect, it was not a quick read, he stared down his receiver the entire route. He should have at the very least tried to look off the defender if that was his only pass option (it was not as has been shown)
The receiver circled was uncovered about a half second into the play, it would have surely have been a completion since those throws are Carr's bread and butter. And QB 101, run the play called but do not stare down one receiver giving the defense time to cover.
You did get one thing right, Qbs should not worry about fans criticizing you. But as we have learned during his pressers, he does worry about what others think about him...way too much.

FYI all QB's miss wide open receivers, it is not uncommon. It is the progressions Carr has issues with. I know his line is not a great pass blocking line (it is not a great run blocking one either) so his pocket tends to vanish quicker than last year. But man, stand tall, at least try to look the defense into overreaction once in a while.
That being said, he is probably enjoying his best statistical year of his career. Yards, he is all but assured of breaking that. TD's are another thing, I doubt he throws 15 in his last 5 games. He should eclipse his attempts high. He will also be up there in sacks, I doubt he gets to 51 (his high) but he will probably have his second most in his career. Yards per game he is ahead of any year so far. All in all, a good statistical year. He has a shot to lead the league in yards, but with an extra game this year, that stat will be slightly inflated. If Mark sees these numbers and is not careful, this is the fools gold we saw back in 2016. Not saying he is not throwing the ball well, he has his highest completion percentage of his career so he is getting it done. The fools gold aspect is the inconsistency by which he is getting it done. If he does not throw for at least 300 yards, we lose. That is not sustainable.
I get it
Let me amend my statement:
We need to throw the ball up the field and average at least 8+ yards an attempt.
Play like we only have 2 downs instead of 3. Stay out of 3rd down all together.
Agreed. I saw a statistical analysis a few seasons ago showing that the best offenses not only had a high conversion rate on third down, but that they got into 3rd down situations less often than most teams, meaning that they converted on 1st or 2nd down more often than lesser ranked offenses.
