Pat Kirwin is saying Carr isn't a fit for the Jets
He isn't a fit anywhere...Imo there are very few teams he'd be willing to waive his NTC for........Still think he gets cut and I'm more than good with that.
That was a rumor. I think if the Colts indeed offered 2 first-round draft picks, Mark would have accepted it. I understand why JM would be hesitant to trade a QB that took the Raiders to the playoffs despite all the dysfunction & his past Denver history. There are teams that still like Derek Carr, so he will get a decent contract but I don't think he gets one that will pay him 40M. Teams will place him & Jimmy G in the same bracket - Jimmy is injured more, but also wins more, and Carr is not injured but wins occasionally.
Not only that, it's like we had a Steve Young waiting in the winds. Mariota was a vet FA and he left.
yea, I know. There is a number of deals out there, Carr is allowed to talk to any of those teams, and he wanted to wait until after his final game in Vegas before he started the process. Rumor has it his agent has already narrowed the field a bit.
At this point, Carr has already been asked about redoing his deal if he is traded. Not sure what his answer was but those same rumors say he wants his money one way or another. Titans guy seems pretty confident on this stuff. Saw him yesterday.
Very curious is this like a flat price we’re asking and x teams have agreed they’d be willing to send us that for him? Is it a different package for every team that takes into account draft position to come up with equivalent value? Is it a future pick(s) so it’s the same flat ask where we really don’t care who he goes to?
Or Carr decides to take the money and get paid $40 million guaranteed to be a backup.
We can't risk that happening.
Backup?
Nope, looking at a starting D/O lineman or full back with lots of time on special teams if he stays.
He would be earning that 40 million or die trying.

Each deal, obviously, is different but agreed upon. Those teams were listed out to his agent and Carr is free to talk to any or all those teams. He can choose to or choose not to waive his no trade clause too the team or teams he would allow the team to trade him to. I do not have a specific number but three seems to be consistent with what I am hearing. Maybe a dark horse jumps in but inquiries from more teams were made.
FYI Jackson's negotiations are helping the Carr deal. Jackson is far apart with the Ravens but priced way above the market. Teams that were watching those negotiations are now seeing value in a Carr deal

And Jackson has been trying to get a fully guaranteed contract, as I recall, which to me is insane for a quarterback with his style.

Ravens were willing to fully guarantee the deal but they are really far apart particularly on years which affects the dollars. Jackson wants a longer deal than the Ravens are wanting to give.
Probably due to his play style as you said
Carr came second, and Rodgers was third. I have no idea what the Bucs fans are thinking. They can't be smart if this is what they really want.
The Bucs roster aged and became poor quick (and Bowles is awful). Also, their cap is a disaster. With Carr their ceiling is wining the worst division in football and a first round playoff loss. Going with Trask is basically punting on the year and going after Williams or Maye in the draft next year. Not wanting to tie themselves to mediocrity (Carr) makes sense, and is exactly why the Raiders want to move on.
As for Rodgers, I image age and his polarizing personality is behind his placement on that poll. You gotta remember, that fanbase won a Super Bowl very recently, so they are not as "desperate" to win.
