Post Game thread - no moral victories, But…

Don’t believe in moral victories but the Raiders fought till the end.

In years past this team would have folded. It wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t mistake free but we just proved we can go toe to toe with the Chiefs this year.

Going up 16-10 at that point in the game was the way to go. 4th & 2? No thanks. Kick the FG. The play call was dumb. I love Klint but that was awful. I believe it was from the shotgun, no play action fake. Just snap & pass from the gun.. I think the play call makes it worse, to be honest. 4th & 1 or less, go for it. Otherwise no. That play call needed a play action if you needed to go for it IMO.

Blitzing Mahomes that often is not smart. That's exactly what he wants a defense to do.

Kirk Cousins is playing top 10 QB level ball. He really is. He deserves major props. He had a great game.

Special teams needs to be sat down & sorted out. In a very profound way. The Bullshit on the returns needs to stop. Can't have that continuing to occur.

Overall, they played tough. This one hurts bit more because I had a 800+ dollar payout off of $20 investment f[raiders_icon]cked over because Dean finished with ONE tackle short.. figured 6 tackles for a game like this would be a gimme for Nakobe lol. Fuckkk

....just thinking out loud, but at this time, is a washed up Tyreek hill an upgrade over a similar type skills tucker?

Subtract two plays we did a really good job on Mahomes. Walker really is the engine driving that team right now. Putting up 27 on Spags with points left off the board is encouraging.

Here's a link to a free The Athletic article.

Rather long article with details and insight from the game.

Excerpt:

Las Vegas looked like the superior team for the better part of their 30-27 loss to the Chiefs, its first with Kubiak at the helm. Despite a sluggish rushing attack, their passing offense was getting the better of veteran Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s unit. And the Raiders’ defense had Mahomes as uncomfortable as he’s been this season.

The game slipped away due to a few shaky moments — in execution by the players, but also in three decisions by Kubiak and his coaching staff.

“Wish we would have won the game,” Kubiak said postgame. “We’ve got a lot of hardworking guys that care about winning, and fell short tonight.”

Walter Payton would not have a chance with our guards. Our pass blocking is good enough because of the short routes (and BB) that we run which hides their warts. The run blocking is non existent. Burford is not as bad as Parham because he does not do a complete whiff. He just turns his back on the man he is supposed to block (zero presence) and blocks the wrong guy (usually just double teams someone).

Team as a whole inexperienced in waning seconds heroics. I'm sure it will be on this week's practice agenda as the gauntlet of upper tier teams begins.

As for the 4th down. I didn't have a problem with it. You want to win in this league you get TD's in the redzone. Not FG's. Let's assume it's 30-30 going to OT none of us here knows how that would have turned out.
I’m not confident this team gets a td if they convert the 4th and 2. That’s one of the reasons I hated going for it. If you go for it, you may get 7, you may get 3 or you may turn it over and get 0.

If it was 4th and goal from the 2 at least you can be sure you’ll get a td if you make it. But in yesterday’s situation, at best you’re saying maybe you’ll get a td if you convert on 4th.

Also, with no running game it makes it tougher to convert on 4th and tougher to score tds in the red zone. I’m amazed the offense has been as successful as it has been.
