On to the Chargers.
After a successful week one win, the Raiders are going to their second home at the Chargers this week.

i agree, our oline played well allowin the running game to dominate, our defense played well keeping the miami offense under control and popgun still threw 2 intsRI RAIDER wrote: Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:26 pm We won despite Cousins, not because of him. Here is hoping he looks better against the Bolts. If we are being honest, he looked like ass. Fernando will play soon enough.
On a side note, I thought Klint missed an opportunity to give Fernando a series (or 2). We were in control (the Dolphins are that bad). I doubt that happens again anytime soon.

There are no fat centurions...Viper wrote: Thu Sep 17, 2026 1:32 pm I can attest to this as my frame a few years ago was 6-3
And 235. Obviously still the same height but I’ve lost 20 pounds and it makes a big difference, especially at my age.
Doctor told me back then that he sees lots of big guys, just not a lot of old big guys.
I probably have coded close to 2000 people and lots were younger over weight patients.
Anyone remotely over weight, if you can't do it by diet and exercise I highly recommend GLP 1 drugs.
Football players pay a huge price.

young, big and strong is for football players ascending, old,big and overweight is for retiring players whom have lost the edge ...this goes for all sports too...you want big, strong, fastRabidraider wrote: Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:38 pm There are no fat centurions...

Is it possible that Kirk’s arm is done? Sure. At the same time I want to see more than one game before pronouncing it as done.

The average man and woman in the US is so much heavier than they were even 40-50 years ago. Not even the obese ones. People used to be pretty lean for the very most partRabidraider wrote: Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:38 pm There are no fat centurions...

If you look at old video of pre 70s most were lean. Processed food and too much screen time.Goodtimes333 wrote: Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:57 pm The average man and woman in the US is so much heavier than they were even 40-50 years ago. he never had a big arm, but we all know that eventually the arm will fail even the strongest of QBs. Would not surprise me in the least. For my part I am glad we are not on the hook for a ton of money.Willmark wrote: Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:45 pm Is it possible that Kirk’s arm is done? Sure. Same here...I had 2 different cancer episodes within a year and a half and when you hear the "C" word it can obviously scare the hell out of you. I'm not quite as tall as you but I had grown a bit fluffy and stepped on the scales one morning and it said "222" so I decided to do something about it. My goal was 190 and through diet changes, exercise, and most importantly, I quit all alcohol which was a big factor in my weight loss...and I've stayed at 190 for nearly 3 years now.Viper wrote: Thu Sep 17, 2026 1:32 pm I can attest to this as my frame a few years ago was 6-3

Doctor told me back then that he sees lots of big guys, just not a lot of old big guys.
But as a bonus, as I gradually lost weight, in addition to my mind becoming sharper, I was also amazed that backaches came less often, my hips and feet stopped hurting and my steps became noticeably much lighter.
One of the better decisions I've ever made.

Yeah, I'm sure that Kirk's arm is not as strong as it once was. But I seem to remember him airing out quite a few long passes in camp but none in the Miami game. And we have no way of knowing if Kubiak even called any plays that called for Cousins to throw the ball 40-50 or more yards.Willmark wrote: Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:45 pm Is it possible that Kirk’s arm is done? In the Miami game, the running game was doing it's job and with the exception of the INTs, Cousins seemed to simply take what Miami's defense gave him, so it didn't really require long passes. Running the ball and short underneath passes are a well known page out of Kubiak's playbook.
