I think Simpson should also be in this discussion. In my opinion his only knock is his number of starts. This isn’t a typical Alabama football team from a talent perspective. Hell they can’t even run the ball. I’m not saying he’s better than Mendoza or Moore, but he’s right there in my opinion. The playoffs will be very telling and it’s possible there will be a change in the rankings of the top 3 QBs. As of right now I have it Mendoza, Moore, and then Simpson, but it’s very close and I’ll keep an open mind going into the playoffs.

My only issue with Mendoza is that he can’t make those off platform throws that you’d like for your QB of the future to make. He’s a WC QB through and through and he’s gonna need a good oline to protect him because he is not going to be able to play off script and create plays.
Some tend to think had he been available last year he’d be the 4th or 5th QB chosen in the draft.
I don’t know man, I’m just seeing Jared Goff, Brock purdy, two guys that will never carry a franchise, but can be really good contributors. or even a poor man’s Matt Ryan.
I wouldn’t be mad if we took the pick haul instead. This guy is a bit overhyped.
If he balls out against Alabama, I’ll stfu.

I think he’s better than Cousins and worse than Ryan. I’d take Goff or Purdy as our QB. I get what you’re saying but I think if you build a line for this guy he will win games. We have to go QB, even if the “Generational” guy isn’t there.NoClapsPlease wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 11:28 am My only issue with Mendoza is that he can’t make those off platform throws that you’d like for your QB of the future to make. I have no idea who you have been watching but that is not Mendoza. He is able to create off script. His biggest weakness is his deeper balls but I would safely say he is better than the three you just mentioned and yea that includes Ryan. And a WC QB is capable of playing with a weaker line since they are timing throws and you can shorten up the routes to adapt to the line you have.NoClapsPlease wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 11:28 am My only issue with Mendoza is that he can’t make those off platform throws that you’d like for your QB of the future to make. I agree with this but Ryan was pretty damn good for a period, if Mendoza can give us a 5k/38 TD season I’d be ecstatic.Attyla wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 11:52 am I have no idea who you have been watching but that is not Mendoza. I won't post the vid for reasons most of you know, but............. if you can get through it, Hondo has some interesting things to say about PC and drafting Mendoza.

This would be playing off script. Our previous “franchise” qb would never ever do thisNoClapsPlease wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 11:28 am My only issue with Mendoza is that he can’t make those off platform throws that you’d like for your QB of the future to make. I took one for the team here...lol. I can't listen to Hondo either.
He seriously doubts Pete will be back next year, and Mark is the only person that could save him.... but Mark said he is staying out of it.
He says the Raiders are extremely interested in getting Mendoza. Other players could be sat for the Chiefs game. He said an NFL insider said the Raiders would be foolish to pass on Mendoza.
He said there is a faction in the organization that really likes Moore, and they think he has more up-side than Mendoza,(Hondo thinks so too) but...... It's almost a dead heat between him staying in school or declaring for the draft. Moore could get the largest NIL deal ever if he stays in school.
The vid was 46+ minutes long. I stayed for that info, no more. After 10 minutes, I had enough of Hondo.

So Hondo just talking out of his ass as usual. He has zero inside knowledge.
Thanks Dr for giving it a listen. You’re a better man than I

Hondo is like several posters here. Open both doors so you can claim you were right. Might stay might go. Like Mendoza. Like Moore.

So Raiders will fire Pete, unless they dont. They want Mendoza unless they dont. They want like Moore unless they dont.
