Why is Davis Webb getting so much attention. I've never heard of him. I see he's been a QB coach for all of 3 years. That's it. Seems like a very a very thin resume.

So the leading candidates for The Raiders Head Coach job are . . .
- Ejiro Evero
- Klint Kubiak
- Chris Shula
- Mike LaFleur
- Mike McDaniel
That's five candidates with, including The Raiders, four Head Coach openings. Seems a pretty sure bet, The Raiders will get one of their top choices.

There’s much more written about him in this very thread, but if you do your own digging you may come to find what’s written about him is that he’s got that “QB Whisperer” thang.Raider_Dave wrote: Sat Jan 24, 2026 5:38 pm Why is Davis Webb getting so much attention. What we don’t know is whether he’d be a great Head Coach. The same can be said for every coach up for a first time Head Coaching gig.

I actually like Webb as a candidate if he can get some good and experienced coordinators.

Not if he’s second choice and first choice hasn’t decided between us or the Bills, or some similar scenario.Attyla wrote: Sat Jan 24, 2026 5:09 pm If McDaniel's was the guy they would have announced it already

Daboll sucks. Even as an OC. He got the giants job because of Allen. Dude is horrible.WolfRaider wrote: Sat Jan 24, 2026 5:03 pm I have a vision….
Head Coach: Davis Webb
Offensive Coordinator: Brian Daboll
Offensive line: Carmen Bricillo
Defensive Coordinator: Jim Leonhard
Webb has connections with Daboll and Leonhard, Daboll has a connection with Bricillo.
Have Daboll calling offence, while Webb learns and gets to grips with being HC. Daboll will end up with a HC gig quick if Mendoza pans out. Webb to then take over calling plays.

He's a QB Whisperer... after working with all of 2 QBs. Wilson and Nix. Guess we'll see what he's made of Stidham tomorrow.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sat Jan 24, 2026 7:03 pm There’s much more written about him in this very thread, but if you do your own digging you may come to find what’s written about him is that he’s got that “QB Whisperer” thang.

I thought Stidham played well for us when he was here, I was actually bummed that we got rid of him at the time. He will stand in there and take a hit if he can throw a deep pass. Hes not nearly as much of a dropoff as people think, Nix is above average but not great, the team is just all around well built.Raider_Dave wrote: Sat Jan 24, 2026 11:16 pm He's a QB Whisperer... after working with all of 2 QBs. There’s a good chance for Stiddy. Getting him was one of the very first moves made at Payton’s request. He’s been there a year longer than Nix. Payton nabbed him when the only thing in the Donkey’s QB room was the decomposing body of Russell Wilson.rich72 wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:13 am I thought Stidham played well for us when he was here, I was actually bummed that we got rid of him at the time. I don’t like either other of them, Patriots and/or Broncos, but I listen to Bill Simmons podcast and nothing pleases me more than when a Boston team loses and makes him sad.
