Contact Riff MajesticI was just looking at this a few days ago; Carr threw 4TD passes against the Browns in 2018, ended the season with 19TD passes (started all 16 games)

maybe mack and cooper still here on the team

S/How many times did Carr throw 4 TD’s in a game?S/
Someone once said sacks are overrated, maybe TD's are too???
Personally I don't care how we score TD's but I get the point...The guys on that list who have are elite.

S/How many times did Carr throw 4 TD’s in a game?S/
Posted this a few weeks back, I went through them season by season.
As a separate thought here are the game logs for every game Carr has played, couple of interesting things to note: Carr- https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... 2/gamelog/ (120 games)
* He has never thrown for 5 TDs in a game. Now granted it doesn't happen all the time for any QB but usually something of note.
* 4 TDs in a game 6 times and none since 2018, Week 4 against Cleveland.
* 3 TDs in a game 11 times, last time being 2020, Week 12 when we "beat" the Jets with the help of Gregg Williams.
* Very few zero TD games over his career, although he did have a total of 6 in 2018 and no TDs over the last two games that year.
Why is this important? Not so much the fact of 5 or 4 TD games are the be all, end all; but in a passing league he under-performs (or so it seems) with 1-2 TDs per game being typical especially relative to other QBs.
Now contrast that with two of the QBs in our division:
Mahomes- https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... 0/gamelog/ (57 games)
Herbert- https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... 0/gamelog/ (25 games)
Couple of things stand out:
1. Despite not playing in 2017 (until the last game of the season), Mahomes has 47 less TD passes despite Carr having 3 (or 4 depending on how you view it) more years on Mahomes.
2. Herbert in just 1.5 seasons is already at 53 TDs in a total of 25 games. Now that is a small sample size but still the rate is impressive.
Why is this important?
It speaks to the fact that while he (usually) doesn't make mistakes he's also not generating offense. Sure there are variety of factors that can be the cause of this, but coupled with his wild swings of hot and cold play along with the fumbling? Yeah... I never really looked THAT close at the game splits as a whole but its pretty shocking and then compared with the the two QBs in our Division I mentioned above? Not good any way you look at it.
EDIT: "Fun" fact, I must have blocked this out, since 2014? We have lost the last game of the season 6 out of 7 times...
Linc doesn't like what he sees. If you listen to the radio broadcasts you can hear the disgust in his voice. It reminds me of Gannon when he would call our games on TV. You could tell he wanted to go down to the sideline and start smacking people upside the head.

https://twitter.com/PhilJonesNFL/status ... 02210?s=20
At the very least I think Mariota needs to become a fixture in deep redzone offence. We can’t run it consistently, Carrs not doing anything off-script, we don’t have a passing weapon that can just dominate in the redzone and Olsen isn’t capable of designing plays to get guys open.
Bring in Mariota once we hit the 15 yard line and at least he gives us a dynamic element that teams need to account for.

Was on my way home from work when he came on and he didn’t hold back.
Said this is a bad team who plays down to their opponents and lacks leadership. He went on from there.
And he’s not wrong.

Finally got a 2nd chance and came out big. Not the kind of person to throw stones.
