Now that I agree with.
Which is why I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade for him, to guarantee he does not get signed by another team
Derek Carr had a realistic chance of getting traded when he was benched. A no. of teams would have taken a second look at him and decided whether he fits their system or not. He would have to renegotiate his contract but that is another matter.
However, David Carr single-handedly has f'd it all up. Now everybody will wait for him to get cut & teams will start with a lowball offer. Nobody wants the drama that ensues with his signing especially when his brother is waiting to badmouth the ownership & the head coach if things don't go his way.

Al Davis liked the long ball so it's possible that he would have drafted Carr. However my guess is that after 2 seasons he would have benched him or cut him.
I don't know how this "Derek Carr's been mistreated" rhetoric started , probably from David Carr spouting nonsense on NFL Network and social media outlets. The truth is that Carr has been overpaid his entire NFL career, not in any way mistreated.

AL would have never treated Carr the way that the Raiders GMs mistreated Carr.
.
Al Davis liked the long ball so it is certainly possible that he would have drafted Carr. However my guess is that after 2 years he would have benched him or cut him from the Raiders.
And Carr has been overpaid for his "services", not in any way mistreated. The rhetoric about Derek was started by David Carr babbling nonsense on the NFL Network and social media outlets.
Have you seen what trash at QB the Jets have had for the last three decades. Carr would the best QB since Ken O'Brien. They would welcome a mediocre Carr for the next 5 years and be happy.
I would counter that Vinny was better than Kenny. Smaller sample size but Vinny and the Jets did go to the playoffs and I believe Vinny won one of those games.
As for welcoming Carr? NY is a tough media market. Great players have folded after moving there. Randy Johnson, one of the greatest pitchers of his generation got clobbered by those writers and he was an all time great. How is Carr going to respond with a room full of Josh Dubow's after he torpedos in a cold weather game?

I'd bet a beer he's released. I just don't see anyone taking on that contract + giving up draft picks, even if they see him as "above average". I could be wrong though, and would happily buy somebody a beer if we get some return for the lemon. Be nice to rip somebody else off for a change.
I'm just glad he's f[raiders_icon]cking gone. No more media images of that pussified bitch as the face of this franchise. My face hurts from the perma-smile.
PS, if you want to collect that beer, meet me at Arrowhead in '23 BABY!!!

Carr does not have to win games in NY if that defense continues to get better. He will have to do just enough. Kind of like Dilfer with the Ravens. And if they do win that way Carr fans will still scream from the highest peak "I told you so."
Although the NY media might still crucify him. Winning doesn't always cure all in NY.

Even if his #s aren't great. I am eager if he does go to NY and they miss the playoffs again what the excuses will be though.

This thread is really pretty boring and I don't bother with it much. Sorry people your anti-Carr rants are tired, and you need original material. Twitter is way more entertaining. Like this guy.... who's being sarcastic right?

But he'll have enough stats from the first few that it MUST be someone else's fault, and the battle of the fan base begins. I see it already in their forums, and he's not even on the team yet.
I don't believe Carr will ever win anything meaningful, even with the Jets. That's becoming a tough division, especially if Tua can stay healthy in MIA, the Bills D will terrify him twice a year, the Pats won't stay down for long, and BB knows how to make him his bitch. I'd also bet a beer Derek would veto any trade offer to NY.

The bottom one is funny because I believe in that point to an extent. Reid has never really had a bad performing QB. Mahomes is a really good QB and elevates Reids offense. I also believe is if Mahomes was on another team he probably does not have a Superbowl ring yet.

A motivated carr that "drops dimes" only last until he gets hit the first time. Once he goes down hard, he will be awful for the next 4 games. He might even pack it in for the season even if playoffs are on the line. He is emotional as hell.
